fan boat ride in the everglades

We call that an airboat around these parts.

The bisons are transplants and really don' t belong in the 'glades.

BTW, where did you depart from?

I make a visit to the Everglades National Park at least once a year. In the park itself no airboats are allowed, no bisons can be seen but a lot of other wildlife comes into view, 'gators, crocs (in the very southern end), deer, otters, panther (I've never seen one of these myself, but others have), a few snakes and more birds than I can name.

Did you know those little Fancy tail guppies also come from the Everglades? I used to trade Black Mollies for them from a guy studying the everglades at Miami Dade College When I was there. The tails on the guppies coming out of the glades had tails 3 to 4 inchs long and every color there is.

I did the air boat thing when I lived in Florida. That was one of only three things I liked about Florida (other then all the wonderful New Yorkers ;) ). The other two were snorkeling @ Key Largo and snorkeling in the fresh water springs in Apopka.
