gfa
The thread about 2018 prices got me curious, so I browsed through the Gibson site. I was sorry to see the J-45 Vintage was no longer there, but I saw the J-45 12 Fret Edition. http://www.gibson.com/Products/Acoustic-Instruments/2017/J-45-12-Fret-Edition.aspx Has anyone played one? I love my J-45 and I love 12 fretters, so this could be trouble.
jedzep
Don't like the clunky looking bridge or the pick guard. Just trying to point out things that could save you cash.
J-200 Koa
I love how Gibson describes the guitar: "Superior 12 fret design". Does this mean that their bread and butter J-45 is an inferior design? How could thousands of J-45 owners be so wrong?
JuanCarlosVejar
To the OP , the J 45 vintage is still in the 2017 line: http://www.gibson.com/Products/Acoustic-Instruments/2017/J-45-Vintage.aspx J200 koa, I think the "superior 12 fret design" statement isn't meant to step over the 14 fret J 45 ... Just that in general the 12 guitars are a wonderful design by themselves. JC

Clunky looking bridge? It's just a regular J-45 bridge as far as I can see. Or am I missing something?

Willie King
I have a 12 fret SJ from a couple of years ago that is suuuuweeet. If you like a 12 fret I am sure you would like a J-45 12 fret. Perhaps you are in trouble.
