It's a solid state. I actually really dig this for what it is. I tried one when they first came out and wasn't expecting much. Actually surprised the crap out of me. Was expecting a run of the mill, stale modeling amp, but these actually do a great job. Picked this one up a couple of months back and have been messing with it more and it does come pretty close to what the models are. Not 100% exact, of course, but pretty close. Marshall did a pretty great job with these. As far as the Line 6 Spiders, Peavey Vypyrs, Fender Mustang type of amps go, this is better than those, in my opinion. Also has Bluetooth features, too.
