First time was with hyperextended compass that seemed too prone to out-of-plumb error(?) when drawing a 16" radius, second-go (above photos) was felt to be more accurate, measuring & placing a small dot every .25" or so, drawing the arc with the flexi-curve. Tedious. the '99 J-45 Std was the only one I felt like stripping the strings from. Also- fretboard wear with age might be a factor. Had to make do, what with StewMac not an option on short notice. They state 'Gibson - 10" or 12" " No mention of Les Paul, Most or J45s. I'm disappointed for such an expensive piece of hardware - touted as being so fine-tuned to the fingerboard, that their website contains significantly different information. 'was hoping you had the appropriate doo-dad, and would check in. 'Didn't know if the J-45 had a compound radius, so was looking at the first fret. Suppose the 12th fret would be the place to check (as you'd done), just in case. I'll go with your findings.
