dimasiche5850
Hello, please help to determine the authenticity of this guitar. The seller assures that this is a gibson.
ksdaddy
It is a Gibson Mark series, likely an MK-35. They were made from about 1975 to about 1978. This particular one is missing the rosette around the sound hole and the pickguard has been changed.

They actually gave you three saddles with each mk series guitar for play height. these had fan bracing much like a classical guitar . Or the kasha Ovation there was the 35, 53, 72 . And 81 and a bowtie version 99 5 models Edited August 2, 2020 by slimt

Placement of the pickguards is . . . umm, interesting, too. Kind of got a yin-yang thing going on there. And someone enjoyed playing it enough to wear some divots into the fretboard, as well. ksdaddy
I think they were shipped with no guard and the owner had the choice of adding it or not. I have a couple.

Those got adhesive on the back or did those slide under the sound hole ring?
ksdaddy
They've got several self adhesive dots, like peel n stick.
