pohatu771
American Musical has new Fall 2020 models available on their site: Emperor Swingster (Delta Blue Metallic, Forest Green Metallic) Wilshire (Cherry, Ebony) Coronet (Cherry, Ebony) Crestwood Custom (Cherry, Polaris White) Joe Bonamassa Black Beauty Les Paul Custom Riviera (Sparkling Burgundy, Royal Tan) 1959 Les Paul Standard (Aged Dark Burst, Aged Dark Cherry Burst) Exclusive 1959 Les Paul Standard (Aged Southern Fade) USA Casino (Royal Tan, Vintage Burst Nancy Wilson Fanatic Like the USA Texan and Casino, which have the 1963 and earlier headstock, the other historic models are using an early headstock which Gibson inherited from New York/Philadelphia Epiphone parts. At NAMM, some Casinos had chrome covers and some had black, leading to some questions - it turns out, the Royal Tan gets chrome, while Vintage Burst gets black. They also have some new exclusives: Casino (Worn Ebony, Worn Blue Denim, Worn Olive Drab) - at a shockingly-low $450. I had just watched an older Riviera on an auction site a few days earlier. I'm almost definitely buying a Wilshire. I wish they did the white finish on it. The only way I'm not is if I can play a Crestwood and like it better. I wish I had a reason to buy one of the exclusive Casinos. I want that Worn Olive Drab version, but there's no reason to have that as well as my Korean Casino and the new USA version I'm buying as soon as it comes in. The Wilshire, Coronet, Crestwood, and Riviera - all of what might be an Epiphone Originals collection, except the USA Casino that had already been announced - were removed. fazeka
Hi all, I asked in another thread but saw this thread here where it may be appropo to ask: does anyone know if these new Epis have scarf joints? I tried to look at some photos and it's a little difficult to see and maybe I'm fantasizing but... I can't see any?!? https://i.imgur.com/uv05VvU.png https://i.imgur.com/OkGXmjs.png Edited November 21, 2020 by fazeka

Scarf joints tend to be stronger through the break angle than solid wood, which  Gibson has used on some models with unusual headstocks. I think that once the stock of necks with other headstocks for pre existing models gets used up they would likely return to one piece necks. Note: that the previous models with clipped ear or more ornate headstocks did not have scarf joints.  My other new Epiphone below doesn't appear to have one, being a new model its likely it doesn't. I will find out in about a week when it arrives.. fazeka
Huh, that picture of your new Epiphone looks a lot like the photo I have in that other thread: Which came from this website: https://www.themusiczoo.com/products/epiphone-wilshire-p-90-cherry?variant=32733810819151 You bought the Music Zoo Wilshire? Yep, one of them, they have more.. Note: Gibson and Epiphone bridge parts are not compatible, Gibson is SAE and Epiphone is metric. The Wilshire's volume and tone pots are full sized CTS like Gibson The tuning keys are compatible size with the Gibson Kluson style. Personally I prefer the sound  of the Epiphone P90 Pro's over the current Gibsons and I think they also seem to be less effected by line noise. pohatu771
I'm glad the Riviera is actually a Riviera, instead of just a fancy ES-335. They have all the parts, let's get a proper Sheraton out again - maybe an early 60s version with the short headstock.
