Discohans
Hey folks! I just purchased this Kirk Douglas signature SG on reverb. https://imgur.com/a/kJ9FFT7 The original sales article had the following description: "Like new, barely been played Plastic is still on the pickguard" Upon inspection i realized that it had a pretty noticable dent on the 14th fret. Is this something i should be concerned about / make a fuss out of? My concern is that it will affect its resale value. As i only own guitars with maple fretboards, i'm also a bit in doubt whether the "chip" on that last photo (taken of the first fret) is natural rosewood grain or infact a chip. Any thoughts? And the plastic wasn't on the pickguard ;-)... Best regards, Jesper
SteveFord
Not their finest hour, was it?
Larsongs
If you bought it new you can do a return exchange… Or you can Call Gibson Customer Service & send it to them for Warranty Repair….
kidblast
hmm, yea it's not pretty, but it won't affect the playability looks like it was done when the frets were filed ? or maybe binding scraping? hard to say for sure. if bought it second hand and so far I assume, so you have little recourse unless the deal is undone with "not as advertised" looks like a nice SG all the same, despite a wart on the neck Edited November 26, 2021 by kidblast
badbluesplayer
Yeah. File marks from sloppy fretwork. Not as bad as some, but def. not a plus as far as resale value goes. I'd complain or return it if it wasn't shown in the pix when it was sold.
Sgt. Pepper
Looks like before the frets were on it was smashed in a vice. That is a not to pleasing to look at. The binding scraper person what not on their game that day. Is weed legal in TN? Edited November 29, 2021 by Sgt. Pepper

Larsongs
Did you pay with Pay Pal? If that damage wasn’t disclosed on Reverbs website by the Seller, & you feel you’ve been wronged, you have just cause to return to Seller for a full refund.. Damage Nondisclsure Return claims with Reverb.com are usually on the side of the Buyer.. Although, you may have to pay for Shipping.
