Murph Posted May 4, 2022 Posted May 4, 2022 I gotta try this, I played a lot of bass in my day... I've got an old tub around here somewhere. Quote
duluthdan Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 My neighbor and his bother had a duo - one played accordion and one played the "thumper" (washtub bass) depending upon how much beer was flowing they were pretty good. Quote

Guy's got a couple of nice jugs if he want to start up a Jug Band. Can probably play in three octaves in two keys..... C sharp and B flatulent. Quote
zombywoof Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 (edited) Our bass player built and played one in the Lassitudinal Slump Jug Band in the late-1960s and early-1970s. I do have a photo of that outfit somewhere. Edited May 5, 2022 by zombywoof Quote

Who says retired people don't contribute to society? This guy's video was very informative. I'd party with him and his contra crew any day. But he might get better string break on his bucket if he used a shorter stick. Quote
Murph Posted May 6, 2022 Author Posted May 6, 2022 (edited) The early Sierra Ferrell video actually started this whole thing. I was doing some paperwork and that video showed up on Youtube and I clicked it. When the bassist hit a few "real" bass licks it caught my ear and I looked up and thought..... I built it and it works, but now I've gotten sidetracked again. I used a 3 dollar hoe I found in town... Edited May 6, 2022 by Murph Quote
