The '57s required more of an effort from the player to obtain the best tone; but in my opinion, the tone achievable - once found- was more to my liking than that obtainable from the BB's. This is Purely Subjective! But then again I am basing my opinion on a sample of fewer than 30 instruments........there are thousands of similar guitars; all with their own voice.
