rockstar232007
I've been around MANY Gibson LP (New, and Vintage) Standards and Customs, since I was 5 years old (1987), and know just about everything there is to know about them, but one thing I've always wondered about is, why the MOP block inlays on the LP Custom never turn yellow/green. Every vintage Standard, or Gold Top I've ever seen, has yellowed inlays, but I have never in my life seen them on a Custom. What's the deal? saturn
Just a guess, but I think the inlays are really some kind of plastic "pearloid" or something. Perhaps the Custom uses real MOP?

LPguitarman
That is also what I have heard. I guess they don't put real MOP on all of their guitars because of costs of material and labor.
Tim Plains
^ How else could they justify the cost of a Custom is every other Les Paul had the same frills?
