Mark
I drove by today and gone, even the Flying V door handles. It never did make much sense to not have that plant in Tenn, but did they close or relocate, anyone know? Overseas maybe.
kingtf
I had two bud's that worked there for years. It was mainly an accessories division from what I understand. But I am not possitive about that. They were both let go a while ago. I will contact them and see if I can get the scoop. Tadd

Murph
Disclaimer............ I live MANY hours from Elgin Il., have a full time day job, and gig weekends, and would NEVER suggest anybody actually "steal" a Gibson sign from any place, and was just joking, and don't even own a truck at this time, and was just kidding, and it was all in fun, and , whoa....., look at the time......... max2343
I'am in no Way Considering Stealing the Gibson Sign in Elgin. I'am Considering Trying to Contact the Right Person to Buy it. Ripping it out of the Ground or Throwing a Chain Around it Would Ruin it. I Bet you it Can Be Had Cheep or For Nothing at All and Would look Real Nice in My Garage

rocketman
Hmm, no mention of this anywhere. One would think it would be in the Elgin newspaper but I couldn't find anything. So how many employees did they have there?

Its probably the size of their custom shop in Nashville, The mystery continues.
