Andre S
Is the mahogany back of a regular gloss finished Les Paul Studio supposed to be a one piece back or two piece? I was looking at the back of mine, and right by the output jack about halfway through the back cavity section; the wood there appears to have a different grain pattern and a different shade of mahogany to the rest of the back. Will post pics soon, as soon as I can find some batteries for the camera.

Thundergod
is this something new' date=' using 2 piece necks?[/quote'] No, but then again I havent seen a neck WITH A JACK:-" He never talked about the neck, he's talking about the body. Depending on the year it might even have a 3 piece back:-" 2008 should be 2 piece back.

Andre S
Interesting flight, I always thought that the backs were supposed to be one piece. Oh well, I always thought it sounded great, knowing this now doesn't make one scrap of difference.
Xinnix
I've seen 2 piece body's for years. Although my LP is one solid piece and I would only buy a 1 piece, I believe Gibson has done this for many years.
