brundaddy
Mad Rax gave me a brilliant idea on how to balance the Gibson Flying V so the headstock doesn't divebomb when your fret hand lets go. He pointed out that his Moser V is super-balanced because of the strap button location: So I just imitated the photo & relocated the button and now it kicks *** -- I can use the slippingest nylon strap and it does NOT tip or dip when I let go & is so much more comfortable to play! Why has Gibson never done this?? Now if I could just find my camera... I didn't drill a pilot hole but I did rub the screw tip in a bar of soap, tap it to break the surface, & it was surprisingly easy to drive the screw by hand. Thanks Mad Rax!! And to think I had always been mildly annoyed playing my V standing up all these years, when the fix took about 2 1/2 minutes.

Mad Rax
All right man! Let's hope that Gibson takes a look and starts making all of her V's like this, congrats!
brundaddy
They won't but it's ok. I just hope some people who'd like their V to balance follow suit.
Rain Soto
Hmm... I think I might just try this out. =) My V's strap button was already relocated once and that didn't turn out well, I'm hoping this will though.

TheChris
Thanks for this... I had just about given up on using my Vee's live... This saved the day... I seem to remember having a Vee years ago that did this, but never made the connection.. Thanks so much for this!
