Rewddawg1
I heard that JW made a comment once that it's not how fast you can play while soloing but it is getting the most out of each note.(paraphrase). Always been a fan since the James Gang.

Rocky4
He provided Page his number one Les Paul, and Townshend the guitar and amp setup that would define his 70's sound. Still had time to be one of America's greatest rockers.
treddingjr
Joe is about 26 or 27 in this video. Rocke Grace has joined Barnstorm by this time to play the keyboard parts. Joe Vitale is on drums, and Kenny Passarelli is on bass. It's 1973 or 1974; about the time The Smoker You Drink came out. If you were lucky enough to grow up in Ohio, you might have seen Joe with the Measles, and then the James Gang when he replaced Glenn Schwarz of Pacific Gas and Electric fame. They played the same club circuit as Glass Harp, The Raspberries, who were known as Cyrus Erie then, The Damnation of Adam Blessing, and others. Good times and great music! Brookfielder
So cool! Joe is one of my all time heroes! When I was little my dad bought Smoker You Drink thinking it must be a comedy album! As he was a country music fan, that was probably the first rock album I was exposed to. Still a favorite. Joe was on fire at that time! I'm sure he has given some guitar lessons in his time, but I wonder if he's ever given "Guitar Face" lessons?
