In praise of Pearl Jam

Saw them live on Sunday, for the third time in my life...Always an amazing show. Forget all the grunge labels: PJ is just a terrific rock and roll band in the truest sense of the word. Guitarists McCready and Gossard tore up the place, alternating between Stratocasters and Les Pauls.

I went to a PJ show about 8 years ago and was pretty underwhelmed.

 

That said, Vitalogy is one of my fav albums of all time.

Pearl Jam is one of my favorite bands, and one of my biggest influences. I am not really sure if they fit in with the whole grunge label either, I feel more rock from them. Their new album is one of the best, tons of songs I like, but the Fixer can really get people going.

 

I'm jealous, cool stuff man.

Never had the chance to see them live but this summer they return back to Belgium to do the Werchter Festival...

Always loved them, and the last album is another highlight in rock history!

I put Vedder into the same league as Axl Rose, Scott Stapp....There voices just get on my nerves after only a few seconds.

Pearl Jam is one of those bands that I just never got into...i HATE Vedder's voice but I do appreciate the music sometimes....they just bore me.

10 is one of my favorite albums, but I lost interest after that.

Awesome band, no denying that but not the biggest fan. They definitely have their place in grunge history.
