EVOL!
Did you hear about the spots on the Sun too!! Apparently their is something abnormal going on with the Sun said Yahoo News yesterday. Possible electrical storms on the way! Whatever next?? Either it'll take out all of the communications and GPS satellites or you'll be able to see the Norther Lights as far South as Nashville. TommyK
Relax Chicken Little. These geophysical events are normal. The earth has seen it before and most of us survived to tell about it. Now get to your tornado bunker and wait for the all clear signal. True, electromagnetic storms can and have disrupted communications and power grids in the recent past (1989 Canada), we are smarter now and better prepared. The only people who have to worry about radiation effects are astronauts in space. Rest easy. We have another year and a half before we're all blown to Jupiter. And, yup, Northern Lights as far south as Nashville.... enjoy.

Artie Owl
There's been a few studies on the prolonged affects of Northern Lights on the Inuit of the North, and studies seem to point to an increase in Brain Cancer. Beautiful, but deadly I suppose. Maybe this is a sign from Mother Nature that she wants the Leafs to do better in hockey? Of course since it's happening in Ontario it could mean the Senators could pick up the slack too.
