kyke25
Hi Guys, I'm worried I have been sold a fake sg standard. It does not have SG on the truss rod cover and the black plate that surrounds the pickups is only half the size of the pictures I see online. Is this enough to know whether it's fake or not? or are there supposed to be variations. If there are variations then I've not seen an image of one anywhere. Thank you for any help. SG FAN
From your description, it sounds like you bought a 61 reissue instead of a standard. But, like the others said, working pics would really help.

SG FAN
Looks O.K. to me, it's a 61 reissue, nice SG[cool]
kyke25
So sorry for sounding so stupid but this is my first SG. I paid a fair price for this, would the reissue be the same value and spec? I mean pickups and stuff?
Thundergod
'61 nnyversary. Not a standard. I think those are a little more expensive, aren't them?
Dub-T-123
Nice SG. That's a good model. The pickups are 57 classic and 57 classic +. The '61 is more expensive than the regular standard. It's about $2,000 new.
Twiz
It looks real to me. I'd check the serial number here: CLICK Or email Gibson's customer service dept.
Tman5293
That is a 61' reissue. If you bought it for the price of a Standard you just got a rip off good deal. That guitar is far better than a Standard.
