james_edward
Does anyone know if Gibson made hardshell cases with white lining, I'm looking at buying a LP and the seller says it's in it's original case. Even thought the case looks real outside, it has no liner cover and it seems to me that out of all the Gibson cases I've seen, I haven't seen one with with lining that I can remember, thanks in advance for any help with this one. Burstbucker1281734065
Yes, some of the cases have a white lining. The case for my DC pro has a white lining. I think they call it a "silver case" because the "Gibson" lettering on the case is silver.

Are you talking about a white liner or are you referring to the white silk like material that acts as a second layer of protection. The new Joan Jett Signature Melody Maker comes with a white liner or fur or fuzz, whatever you want to call it For the record not mine, but I hear it is a kick @$$ guitar. pohatu771
I agree about the Joan Jett Melody Maker... I wish the next Melody Maker reissue would use that double-cut style, to separate it from the Les Paul a bit.
matiac
Yup, my Goltop had a white lined case.
iansmitchell
I wanna see an X-plorer melody maker, how cool would that be? They've done LP and SG MMs, why not an X?
RotcanX
Gibson cases have switched to white plush lining for over a year now. You don't get the 'bib' anymore either. Just for what it's worth, before the white lining they had a black lining with a black satin bib; before that, the cases were brown with pink linings and a pink satin bib. Here's a glimpse of the case that came with my '61 SG reissue: ...white plush; no bib.

pohatu771
The 1965/Revolution Casinos had a pink interior. Are the Casino cases period-correct? With the obvious exception of the giant John Lennon caricature. How long ago exactly is "before that?"
thunderstruck507
like 90s before that...not sure what year they switched from the pink
Ricochet
Yep, my Gibson case looks exactly like the JJ case. Anyone know how long it takes for the white lining to turn piss-coloured?
