And yet again Oasis playing epiphone

Oasis performing "Falling Down" on Top of the Pops special Comic Relief version yesterday.

Even after all those 15 years of fame they still find epiphone guitars tonally exceptional over gibson ones and use them live. (just a pointer to some of the guys over here who thinks that gibson is everything best that's been ever created) :-

Gem with natural casino and Noel playing some weird white pickguard Gibby.

Well...I don't know if I'd go that far. The story goes that their first drummer went ballistic because he'd been putting money into the band' date=' and the first advance they got from their record company Noel ran out and spent the lot on a black Gibson LP Custom. You can see him playing it in this early clip from the Jools Holland show.

That ES-345 he has these days looks pretty nice too...

I think they play whatever they like (such is the luxury of being wealthy rock stars). I read that he has an Elitist Casino in his arsenal these days too...

Has it really been 15 years? That makes me feel very old.

It just goes to show that you don't have to spend thousands to rock.

It took them 10 years to get back together!

I liked them best when they were all snorted out and hating each other.

Boy they wrote some hellacious tunes.

( but in hindsight it's much better to take care of yourself.....)

i think its great that they have been going for so long now and are truly a great british rock band and i seriously doubt there will be anyone else like them again,

on another note Gem's natural casino was really nice great to see them using Epiphones alongside the mountains of Gibson guitars they use!

Gem plays a Revolution Casino... so... yeah, you have to spend thousands...

If you want to see Noels collection just go and look at Johnny Marrs collection. I recon that Noel has copied Johnny in every way (Gibson Es-355 for example)...

Sorry Noel... but Johnny is just unreachable as far as guitars go (and music!)...

Man' date='...I would love to have Noel's guitar tech show me his entire collection. It must be crazy the stuff he actually has!!!!

=P~

He seems to sell his guitars as they fall out of favor, rather than maintaining a vast collection.

A fair few have been sold through a private dealer in London over the past few years, including his non-reverese Firebird, his '67 Riviera and his '67 Casino.

He sold his '60s US-made Riviera, but seems to have retained the late-'70s Japanese-made version he used in the early days. Guess it's 'iconic':

If you are interested in his guitars, this UK music dealer has put a fairly detailed site together:

Sorry, but I reckon John Squire 'reached' that point (in terms of music) - and ultimately went beyond...

And this makes me feel even older than the Oasis clip...

Pls don't compare oasis (Noel in this particular case) with any of americans, pls. Not trying to offend anyone, but c'mon.

Plus I doubt he would try to copy anyone apart from beatles. There's just no reason for that.

And for people who think oasis is overrated band: those lads proved that music is not all about how fast you can play or how technical player you are. Simple music, simple lyrics and sold out stadium singing word to word, gig to gig. What else would you like?

What are you talking about?

No-one compared him with any American musicians.

He's slowly turning into Paul Weller...

nah man hes fukin god

Have to admit' date=' I do like Oasis a lot. Have to stick [i']Definitely Maybe[/i] and What's the Story, Morning Glory on my stereo from time to time. The new stuff is good too.

I've never seen Noel with a Celtic scarf before, thought he was strictly a Man City man through-and-through...

By the way, you'll hate me for this. First time I visited the UK a friend of mine took me to Anfield. Been a fan ever since... I've got high hopes for a 6th European Cup this season...
