i have aquired a deal for a used korean made riviera

for $470 US

which is prefered ? a used but mint riviera or a brand new dot?

i just want ur opinions and i KNOW that the best thing is to try it myself but that is impossible cuz im not in Singapore.

my aunty will bring the riviera home.

and my style of music suites garage sounds such as the strokes, libertines, oasis and Kings of leon.

will the minis nail the sound?

thanks

oh and charlie brown, please come to the rescue.lol

Riviera all the way!! Looks cooler, higher end guitar, mini humbuckers, cool tailpiece and TRC. List goes on. I love my two dots but if it came down to it I would trade either for a Riviera. Better resale value as well if you end up not liking it. It will be perfect for the kind of stuff you're into and probably a more comfortable neck.

Well, for me, there's no contest! Riviera, always! Dot's are good guitars, but Riviera's are "the Bomb!" Mini-humbuckers, which are great, on their own...and don't really need to be changed or "modded,"

a nicer neck (IMHO), neck binding, compensating tailpiece...which, if you wanted to, later,

could easily be changed to a "bigsby," without any stud holes in the top, like a "stop tailpiece" would leave.

So, good luck, Aminaziz92! Hope it all works out!

i dont know i just sold my dot to get the riv P93 and personly .......i like the dot, the riv is deff a better made guitar, but i would try playn one first, I have pretty big hands and i really prefer the neck on the dot over the riv, manly just at the top of the neck, my fingers are tripn over each other, but like i said i just got it so give me a month or two and i will tell ya, i also think the riv body is a little bit smaller than a dot, I know the *** end is at least a half inc smaller than a casino
