Hecube
By the way, when I bought mine, the documentation included with it (long gone) clearly indicated it had been made in Japan.
blues335
@Hecube Those upgrades are wild, but the one that intrigues me most is that bridge. Where did you get that? Was that a straight replacement for the old Samick bridge (all these guitars are Korean) and have that goofy sized bridge....which is the only thing I hate about mine. I would like to swap the goofy Samick bridge on mine for a "standard" 335 bridge.

It's just a replacement bridge I found at Stewmac.
Hecube
Hope it doesn't make a change, now that you know it isn't Japan made..... Nope, not in the least. This guitar works for me.

It is virtually mint condition, but I changed the pups. Still have originals tho.

okavipra
I bought mine brand new back in 1987. It was the first electric guitar I ever bought. It's been modded to hell and back but there won't be much further mods done to it though because I feel it's become perfect for what it is and what it needed to be. Mods were: I hated the original pickguard's form and I changed it for a man's pickguard: a beautiful three-ply cream Les Paul pickguard, attached with an upscale archtop pickguard bracket the switch tip was changed from black to amber the pot knobs were changed from amber to gold (the old knobs will have new duties on my '59 Melody Maker) Roller bridge Bone nut Planet Waves auto-trim tuners Pickups changed for WCR Fillmore humbuckers Pickup rings changed to Seymour Duncan triple-shots for added tonal variety all wiring redone Epiphone Ez-bender b-bender attached to stop-piece The only thing missing is a custom rosewood truss-rod cover... Here's an outside shot: This guitar has its very own strap all for itself, a beautiful brown "Jimmy Page" strap specially adjusted for the guitar and me: Hey dude, sorry to bother , but where can i find a bridge with rolers , just like yours that fits on my epi, i`ll instal a bigsby on it. Thanks

UCS
Hello everybody. Two days ago (sept 23 2011) I bought this guitar and while using Google for extra info I ran into this forum. My guitar has serialnumber 880802060 and is from 1988. So far I quite happy with it. The guitar is almost as new. No serious damage whatsoever, just a few tiny scratches at the back. The former owner has been ver careful with it and I intend to do so as well. The trussrodcover is missing, but I ordered a new one, wich will arrive after the weekend! FYI: I'm a professional musician/studio-owner from the Netherlands, 52 years old and owner of a lot of guitars, like a Fender '71 Tele, Fender '62 Strat, Fender'70 Strat, Fender '59 Tele RI, '73 Martin D35, Farmer Lapsteel, a type 33 Dobro, Fender Strat XII, '78 Gibson LP Standard, Epiphone Firebird VII, Epiphone FT-365 El Dorado 12-string, Fender'63 Jazz Bass, Seagull CW6+ acc However, until now I didn't have a Sheraton (or hollowbody like Casino, 335 etc.) so I bought this one (with a good case for €300,- = appr. $400,-)

BoogieUSA
Hello, name is Eddie. Just bought an EBG, serial #1211038. Wanted to know if it was made in USA. Great cond. Prior owners states she bought it new in 1989 out of Orange County, Calif. Will send pics later. Plays excellent....
BoogieUSA
Here's a couple pics as promised. I am not good with these new digi cams, I miss my 35mm. The pics don't do justice, the inlays on this thing are the most colorful I have ever seen on an Epi, and the grain on the face is subtly figured. BoogieUSA
Hi, I just bought an Epiphone by Gibson. There is an quite amazing story to it. The guy who sold the guitar got it as a present from friends and relatives on his 40 years birtday in 1989. On the day of his birthday he played the guitar once. Then he put it back in its case. There it has been resting until yesterday when i bought, with case, original instructions and adjusting key. So I bought a new guitar now scratches or any other annoying things. Question arises wich year was it made? The serial number is not complete. The label isn´t complete. the numbers that are on the label is 1211235 perhaps someone here has a cloue to which year this could relate to. I will try to upload some photos of the guitar. /Mats I just bought a 1989 one. Serial #1211038. Looks like they were made days apart. I paid $500.00 in excellent cond. How much did you pay? BoogieUSA
Sorry I am not familar with the used guitar prices in the US I think it is a good price (not too much) you've paid Thanks Pete. Will send photos soon.
