They were sort of flat and bland to me--like she was singing without even knowing what the song was about. For the record, I thought it was interesting, but to me "interesting" or "different" doesn't automatically mean I like it. It's not me being close-minded (hey, I listened to it the whole way through,) but in a way I felt like they missed it on both ends--like on some level they don't "get" either NWOBHM or Classical music. Although, I mean, I guess it's "something new," which essentially invalidates my statement. Yes, I know Doro's background, I've listened to Warlock and I've always thought her vocals lacked dynamism. To those who wish to cut me down or say I'm being narrow-minded, just think back to when someone posted Slayer's cover of "Born To Be Wild," and everyone got up in arms about it, and nobody (except dem00n) objected to that. Allow me the liberty to disagree, please. I don't dislike it because it's "interesting" or "different" either--I just happen to dislike it. These aren't my opinions, they're examples of ongoing conflicts of taste on the Forums, notably ones that have evolved into apparent animosity between members. You know I like Gary Moore and Yngwie Malmsteen. Oh, and on another note, even though I'm not so fond of Doro or the orchestral arrangement of "Breaking The Law," I think they're all fine talents and skilled musicians. It just ain't my thang. If they really wanted to cover a Priest song there are several that would be more suitable to their more dramatic (in lack of a better way to describe it) style. It takes a lot to put yourself out there and that deserves respect in my books. I personally liked the song but I don't think I'd buy it. Metallica have been quite known for using orchestras' . Master of Puppets stands out, what were they thinking lol....btw Metallica are my favorite band and yes even I just put them down a bit lmao....
