cookieman15061
I know you younger guitar bangers might not appreciate these guys but as far as pop songwriter/ producers these guys are pretty darn good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pLTD23l468

ZenKen
I wish more young people would know Rundgren. I've been a fan since the Nazz (yeah, I know). He's quite the genius - great player/writer/producer. B)

Plus if you don't have Something/Anything in your CD collection its not complete.

KL
Yeah I'm a big fan of Live From Darryl's House. It was sad that T Bone Wolk died earlier this year as he was such a big part of it.

NeoConMan
Not a big Rundgren fan - I dunno why. Wasn't he fronting The Cars a few years ago? Â I will admit that Hall & Oates were always a guilty pleasure of mine. Blue-eyed soul, pop, whatever - they had some good stuff 30 years ago. Â Â Â Never really understood the role of John Oates besides playing guitar... Â

Actually the New Cars but thats a whole other subject.   I've heard rumors that the original Cars are reuniting but without the late great Ben Orr's voice(Just What I Needed, Drive, Candy O) whats the point? Shnate McDuanus
Frankly, I've never paid much attention to Todd Rundgren.  He did produce GFR's We're An American Band, though, so in my book he's cool.
NeoConMan
Rundgren is a many-talented guy, been all over the music biz since the sixties. Â Just never popped up on my radar much. Â Meatloaf, anybody?

chrisnorthw
Good to see some appreciation of Todd Rundgren, prolific songwriter, producer and all round good guitar player. I've always loved guitarists who have their own sound and having tried all sorts of guitar effects pedals have never come close to replicating his. Most people will know his playing from Meatloaf "Bat out of Hell" without necessarily knowing it was Todd who played guitar and produced that album. On You Tube there is a series of interviews with Jim Steinman on the making of that record including how the motor cycle guitar part came to pass. Worth a look. Saw Todd in London this year with his "Wizard a True Star" show, he's still a good performer. Cheers
