sparky scott 29
A homebrew ??? I like them..
mr newhaven
yeah i'm in new haven, ct! its not a homebrew its an 80's MIJ Rosewood Telecaster! I have one that was modified back in the late 80's and I am OBSESSED WITH IT! So I had to find one that was original too...but to be honest...because of the grain patterns I feel like its not unreasonable to look for more too! haha but i digress! after this bad boy gets in town tomorrow...ALL OF MY MONEY IS GOING TO A LES PAUL JUNIOR! not some...ALL OF IT! haha i have had an unhealthy obsession with them ever since I saw Billy Squier Rock one out HARD!!! Dub-T-123
That bridge looks cool. I like having the 6-saddles on my Tele but I wish I could clip an ashtray on it. Nice grain!
mr newhaven
thanks! the mij's were usually 6 saddles...unless modded...i dont know why actually cause the 60's 70's models were 3 saddles! weird! and that picture is nice... haha but the grain on this guitar is surprisingly all over the place! the back is straight grained but the front has a lot of knots and swirls! ill post more pics later so you can see what im talking about but i dont mind! there is no such thing as an ugly one to me! and checking out the market i dont see too many cherry MIJ's left anyways! haha but yes i do have a love affair with these...its only gonna be my second but i can see at least 2 more in my future...but i must focus on my junior first! then more rosewoods! Dub-T-123
Is it solid wood (laminated rosewood & maple) or veneer?
mr newhaven
its solid rosewood (actually i think its chambered...most were 6 piece bodies...some were 4...) but its heavy right around 9+lbs i love them! its coming tomorrow!!!!
mr newhaven
it just came in...here are some more pics from the original owner
EVOL!
Very nice. I am jealous. I love Teles of less traditional wood. And I have heard they are deliciously heavy; like a Les Paul or ES335.
mr newhaven
i'm just a sucker for natural finishes in general and yes they weigh in at least 8.5lbs as much as 11 or 12 depending on vintage! but the souuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnddd! not as "thin...jangly" as a standard tele but with definite tele TWANG!
