coupeJ45custom
Proud owner of a brand new, 2010 J-45 Custom (love it!) Tried one out down in Nashville in the spring and was smitten. Question is, what cleaning/polish products are safe to use on the nitrocellulose finish? I bought a spray bottle of Gibson Polish and assume that it will be fine, but wanted to check before proceeding. Any help would be appreciated!! The Gibson polish (both the orange pump bottle and the Luther's Choice) on highly rated. I really like Preservation Polish from Stewart McDonald as well. Never use any polish the contains silicone. BigKahune
I use the pump for quick cleanups. For stubborn forearm haze and the like, I use Virtuoso cleaner and Virtuoso polish http://www.virtuosopolish.com/ < no affiliation>
drathbun
Virtuoso Cleaner and Virtuoso Polish especially formulated for nitro finishes. Best product I've found.
lespaulj45
I bought the Gibson Reissue Restoration kit which consists of a bottle of fretboard conditioner, bottle of metal cleaner, and a bottle of restorative cream-makes my DB LP and J45 look excellent
DonCarlos
My vote is for Gibson pump (orange). I bought the virtuoso cleaner and polish, and it left a haze so I got that out with the the Gibson pump.
