chaszasz Posted February 4, 2011 Share Posted February 4, 2011 I,ve bought a couple of Epiphones in the Last few months,an LP ultraII and a used Casino (Korean).Why is the warranty in Canada so vastly different from the U.S. market(1 year only),especially considering that we pay as much or more for the same product.I travel in the U.S. extensively and am now considering any future Gibson/Epiphone purchases will be made there. The Epiphone Warranty Sounds a bit hard to believe ... maybe your retailer is telling you THEIR policy. Jim Edit: I just noticed that you said your Casino was used at the time you purchased it. BillyGibson Posted February 4, 2011 Share Posted February 4, 2011 After deciphering the USA warranty, there's probably not too much difference. I believe the electronics are only warranted for a year. Everything else is "workmanship" related. I wouldn't worry about it. These things are built like tanks. [/quot Gibson and Epiphone are distributed by Yorkville sound in Canada,I'm assuming that they opted to not offer the ten year part of the warranty in order to kepp cost's down.I'm just amazed that Gibson/Epiphone would allow them to deal that way. That would make a difference as you are not the original owner. As far as I'm aware the Limited Lifetime Warranty doesn't apply in the UK either. Basic one year back to retailer warranty!
