WahKeen
I wore a metal belt buckle today and this thing worked great. I have two. You've just got to remember to take it off when you're done playing. If I hadn't used it, it wouldda been scratch city.
Riffster
I use a House of Blues bandana folded over the belt buckle or one of those slim beer bottle koozies right on the belt buckle, I put the belt though the holes at the bottom, works great. Lungimsam
I am the kinda guy where if I worry about scratches and dings, I'll get majorly neurotic about it. To the point where I drive myself nuts nuts nuts! So I don't even worry about protecting my axes. I just play them and look forward to when they will have that well-loved and played reliced look. I do keep them in the cases though, as I don't want humidity and temps to do anything funny to the wood.
Kimbabig
Rotate your belt so the buckle is at your side, doesn't cost a dime.

DAS44
I've used a guitar strap as a belt before, didn't scratch my LP at all, and kept my pants up 'round my waist (where they effing belong).

milod
In ye olde days you always could tell a picker 'cuz he wore his belt buckle way, way on the left side. m
FirstMeasure
I'm proud of my Buckle Scratches . The only issue I have is the knocking sound you get with a Strat that still has the Back Plate on. Ya know, from the Belt Buckle hitting it. That's reason #3 for removing the Back Plate.

rocketman
My former guitar teacher had a Alpine White Custom Les Paul. He taped some cardboard on the back of it to protect it. But he left it on all the time. Years later when he removed it, the back was still white but the rest of the guitar turned a shade of yellow. So it looked really bad. I follow the untuck your shirt approach.
WahKeen
Sometimes ya gotta dress nicely ta play at church ya know.... Actually, I don't tuck my shirt a lot of the time playing at my church. But I got me some new jeans over the weekend, so I felt like doing it. Now, when I did the Chuck Berry,.....
