neilpanda
Ive been looking at my 335 lately and I dont know... I just think the black plastic looks funny. Im trying to imagine cream hardware. not too sure if it goes well with the iced tea finish. Any coloring ideas? or should I just keep it the same? Shnate McDuanus
I dunno. I like the black, but cream might be cool on it, too. I just find it hard to imagine that guitar with cream hardware...
Mark
Yea I would stick with the black but keep the switch knob...that's a great color. Is that original? Someone told me that if you put a White knob in a glass of Tea for a few days you will get that antique color.
RaSTuS
I would remove the pg so the top was exposed, then make up my mind how it looked. Someone told me that if you put a White knob in a glass of Tea for a few days you will get that antique color. I heard the same thing about nuts, I left Tusq nut in really strong tea on a windowsill for 3 or 4 weeks, the damn thing came out the same colour, drat. stein
I have a LP in the iced tea, and it looks great with the cream. Also, I have seen some Collins 335 style axes with cream instead of black-real tasty. I say, buy a couple pup rings and give it a try, and if it works, go all the way with the rest. If it ain't broke don't fix it... umm...dude...I seem to remember a really really beautiful LP in GOLD LEAF. Broke huh? Well, it sure as heck ain't broke now. But yea, I like the way the casino is looking with the black now. It certainly ain't broke.

But yea, I like the way the casino is looking with the black now. It certainly ain't broke. You are right and wrong... The gold leaf guitar was a project... I bought a stripped down worn brown LP studio body off e-bay. Had no hardware, pupps or electronics and I did it from the ground up... When I said if it ain't broke don't fix it I didn't mean it was broke... I just meant it looks great as is and I wouldn't touch it... After all it was a quest for opinions... Maybe I shouldn't have used the flapper tongue smile, that was a bit rude...

I'm feeling goofy today. I agree with you, but a couple pup rings are so cheap, and I just happen to know iced tea is a great match with cream, thats all. But, the black DOES look good. AND...I was really trying to throw in that your gold leaf LP really is great looking and over the top, as far as that goes.

LOL...OTay Panky, well...in that case, since you asked....(I much prefer) "BLACK," on ES-335, 345, 355's. But, I do like "amber" switch caps. :>) CB
