The goldleaf didnt stick so well to the metal but like the "worn" look of it.

I'm in love.

Awesome dude! That's gotta be the coolest looking BYOC pedal I've seen. I like how you finished it!

How was it putting it together?

I'm hopefully finishing up my first build this weekend.

It was a lot of fun. Gotta say that without a helping hand tool it would of been harder. I say go for one of those helping hand tools.

Cool man. Are you planning on building more pedals?

Yeah, not so sure which one yet. Do you know any other places that sell kits with instructions? Not so ready to read electrical diagramsa.

while not really kits with instructions, there is some good stuff at http://www.tonepad.com

my most recent project was an echo base delay, and it was a blast to build. it's also a LOT of fun to use. :)

here's a link to the layout i used:

They have instructions, err whatever you call them. A layout as you called it.

Do you have buy the parts? Caps, resistors, etc?

I got my kit from Mammoth electronics which uses a PCB from guitarpcb.com. It has a diagram that's really easy to follow for the PCB (the components are individually bagged and labelled corresponding to the diagram) but the instructions for wiring are kinda vague. At least to me since it's my first build.

I also just bought a "kit" from caps n' such (which is run by a super cool dude from another forum) and it was like $30 shipped minus enclosure and knobs and the PCB is really nice.

I really want to build a DAM Sonic Titan clone after my IC Muff.

Good luck with the one from Mammoth Eletornics dude.

I think im going to build a Rangemaster from Madbean., i used to know a guy who use to own one and it sounded great for anything really.

Thanks I got some help and I think I know what to do.

The Rangemaster is an excellent choice man. Try running it before your Muff if you do it!

Madbean seems to clone some tasty pedals. I love the idea of a cheap DIY Fuzz Factory.

I'm suprised how cheap they are, now i feel like i got ripped off with the BYOC pedal price. [lol]

you do have to source your own parts and supplies, but that's half the fun for me... :)

i like these two places a lot:

Small Bear Electronics: http://www.smallbearelec.com/home.html

Pedal Parts Plus: http://www.pedalpartsplus.com/

Mouser and Digikey are also good resources for stuff, esp. if you buy in bulk. When i build something, i usually buy at least two of whatever part i might need, should i mess one up. ;)

BTW: the rangemaster is an excellent build. here's a cool link to a PDF on Geofex, all about the original, very simple circuit: http://www.geofex.com/article_folders/rangemaster/atboost.pdf

have fun!
