cookieman15061
Studio is difficult..... A inexperienced vocalist can easily hide behind a good band live, but in the studio every off note, breathing mistake, and bad annunciation of vowels and consonants can drive a studio engineer bonkers. Only your very good singers can transfer feeling, and great performances on to tape
cookieman15061
This Didn't want to say it so I am glad you did. I'll second that. The incessant whining drives me nuts.
cookieman15061
How about Brad Delp? The singer for Boston. He had a fantastic voice! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiOqHLVxZvA Awesome choice. Very few even know that he sang every note on their first album. Lead and backing harmonies.
Draco
That was going to be my pick, but you beat me to it. No one can sing like RJD.
cookieman15061
I have learned a bit from Dave Grohl, and when I have to do songs with more "screaming" or heightened vocals, I stole his trick of chewing gum to keep the mouth salivating Which he got from Lennon. Silenced Fred
Which he got from Lennon. No way! I also left the Beatles off my list, not sure why. They got some great stuff and they are an influence on me for sure

They got some great stuff and they are an influence on me for sure John puked his guts before every performance too. I'm not sure if Grohl uses that technique or not. retrosurfer1959
I really like the RHCP always have and Ive seen them in concert 4-5 times but I would never call Anthony a good singer. Creative and interesting with great timing especially rapping sure but not good vocally.
