Blaster
A couple years ago I bought a 12 fret Southern Jumbo from one of the forum members here. I've come to favor the 12 fret scale especially the deep tone and playing ease. I also own a 12 fret Martin 000-40S MK, which is special model designed by Mark Knopfler and Martin's **** Boak limited to 151 guitars. As with most Martins, it's reigns in the middle tones as opposed to the Gibson 12 fret Southern Jumbo, which is a very deep and strong sounding slope shoulder. Are there any other forum members, who have the 12 fret Gibson SJ models? I believe there were six guitars in the Gibson Custom Shop run.
retrorod
Sounds like a rare bird? I was not aware of the 6-run 12 fretter. I would like to try one though!

pfox14
Now that's a cool guitar. Didn't know they made 12-fret AJs. Love to hear a sound clip. Wonder why they put the "banner" logo on the peghead. Gibson never made this guitar back in the WWII-era.

How it came to be is explained in the linked thread.
michaelsegui
Kind of a Roy Smeck Southerner Jumbo. I like it!
modoc_333
yes! it's the all star team... never was meant to be a reissue of a specific guitar....the idea was more to mix our favorite things about several guitars... sort of like something they COULD have made if they had thought of it back then. :)
GotTheSilver
I would love to try one of these some day. My eyes have recently been opened to the wonders of the 12 fretters! I also would love to hear a sound clip if anyone has one!
willysunday
One just sold on eBay for around &2k. I'm an SJ-junkie but I have never seen one of the 12-fretters. Would love to play one. Willy
