Depending on age and location of the writer deep-seeded and deep-seated are often mixed up and seen as almost interchangeable. As you brought up the proper term is deep-seated however according to most English Professors in college and technical writing usage either term, can be used as long as the word is hyphenated. Without hyphenation the term is wrong no matter how you spell it. Carry on with your arguments... Nice guitar and nice playing if were wanting to go back on topic.
