So I've played the tune perhaps 30 or more times now and the character has changed, as things tend to do with repeating. Gentler, more controlled, better phrasing, simpler arrangement.....getting closer to what I want this one to be. This is a "first take", first song of the day video.........couple cups of coffee, three or four cigarettes, uncase the guitar and turn on the camera. I often find that the first thing I sing in the morning is different from previous efforts in a good way. I think this delivery is more in line with the mood of the song.........

Harlan Alive

Sure like to hear some others tackle this one. It's quite simple on the guitar and melody is easy.......come on, ye songsters of the forum! [biggrin]

That's the way to do that song. It's a hauntingly beautiful song.
Once again Buc comes thru

Yeah I love it as well, I had never heard it before now. Great job Buc. This one is kinda close to home for me as my family is from not very far from Harlan, I have been there a few times. Great song Buc.

It's a good enough song that both versions work very well. You've done it justice. Great job!
