Thx for that Friends,

i thought a second about grabbing my 2016 when i got it, drive to the shop with the 2018, and compare them. Worst thing would be, i like the 2018 more than my 2016. But i dont wanna send the 16 back and pay 1800 on top for the 18.
Think this is going to far :-) Laugh.............................

Are you sure - could be quite a mission. And maybe - if the 18 flies above the 16 - a deal could be made.
In both cases it would give perspective and reassure you the right Bird is in your hands. An invaluable feeling when it comes to high-end guitars, trust me. .
You just can't keep coincidences down. .

By the way, Gibson wrote me that the 2016/18 are exactly the same guitars. Only the color changed. Thatís it.....

Unless he's listing it at Gibson's suggested retail price, getting a shop to come down 1/3rd off his price is definitely "a mission'. First you'd have to get the shop to put on the same new strings you put on you 2016 and hope they're both humidified at the same level. Then, if you feel his guitar is better, you'd have to convince him to lower his price 33% to match the price on an "inferior" guitar you got off the internet. That would wipe out his profit and cause him to lose money on the sale. If he IS listing at the "MSRP" you might get him to come down. I'd guess 10%.

Congratulations. Play it. Stick on a Tone-rite when youíre away. Repeat. :-)
Standard J-45 - you might want more guitars than this one but you don't need 'em

I just got my Sweetwater catalog. Holy Cow - the new HB Vintage is a bit pricy ain't it.

I still have my 2016 Hummingbird Vintage and love it ! It's become my favorite over my Martin D-18 and others.

Hey friends,

the Bird has finally landed after delivery Problems, puh. But worth the wait! Today i give him another testdrive.

So far i am in love with the guitar. Killer Setup, really Low, like that. Absolute open sounding, no "socks in the soundhole" like the standard ones i played. Sound like my Authentic 41,.....a bit in terms of Airy/openess. Big Fan of that!
There is a bit of glue here and there near the soundhole, but if you ignore that, it is an absolute Killer Deal for 2017 Vintage Bird(2600 Euro finally)

Cant share pics here :-( but i BIG thx to everyone who encouraged me to buy that lovely guitar :-)

2017 ?!?, , , makes me wonder which one you got. Probably what we knew as the '16.
Anyway - good to hear it lives up to your expectations. Congratulations.
The right Bird home is a big achievement. Brings a blissful peace over the land. Inside as well in the rooms around.

A shame you can't show photos - it makes things more real for us all.

And you know we never lose lust for bursts. It is like ornithologists studying plumage.

You just can't keep coincidences down. .

Oh maaan, it looks good. The burst seems to be very close to the pre-torrefied versions, which are my personal favorites (compare to my own outdoor shots).
Really like the new faded chrome/ yellowed tulips, , , but I lOVE when the shoulders reach the same hue as the sides on each side of the cream-bindings.
This makes the guitar come together in an completely irresistible way and promises so much for the future. These creatures in 10-15-20 years - wooouww. .

Hell yeah,

Tomorrow the bird gets a setup and new strings. After that, 5 hours playtime 😉
