Epiphone Visual (aka: "Sex") Appeal!

Recommended Posts

We all love "Guitar Porn," so...here's a qustion.

Which Epiphone Electric, has the best "sex appeal,"

OR "Visual Appeal," if you like?

For me, there's 2. The "bling" of the Sheraton, and the

simplicity (understated elegance) of the Casino.

What say, the rest of you? ;>)

Most of the archtops' date=' in general but especially the double cutaway thinlines.[/quote']

Yeah, Ron...

I sometimes forget about some of the "Jazz Box" archtops, because (1) I've never

owned one (Gibson or Epi) and have always gravitated toward the Thin lines. But,

you've made a valid point. That "Elitist" Byrdland is a beauty, for sure...as are the others.

Charlie, I think this topic lends itself to the Gibson vs Fender thing which I've given some

thought to. Visually, the Gibson/Epi archtops say "guitar", whereas Fenders say "electric

guitar" - free-form shapes, solid candy colors, gobs of knobs and switches. G/E archtops

are obviously wood, symmetrical, have quite pretty woodgrain-showing furniture finishes, minimal

controls. Don't get me wrong - I like Fenders; this is just how I've always seen the two. When I saw

my first Gibson, an ES330, I knew I had to have it. And I could just sit and look at it, it was so handsome.

Not pretty, handsome. And I chose an archtop (Dot Studio) when I re-entered the electric world last year.

For me, it's always been the SG. The curvature of the solid body and the simpleness (I know it's not a word) of it's design have always given it an aesthetically pleasing view to my eyes.

Plus it rocks!

Simpleness, in fact, is a word. Therefore, you're not a simpleton.

Maybe that's the reason I like them so much. (lol)

And thanks Ron, I make up words constantly, and often they are not real words.

Other times I just get lucky.

Lucky, horny, devil - yeah that's me. =D>

And the Serpent said unto Eve, "Is it only of the Epiphone Sheraton II NA that the guitars gods said you couldn't

play?" "Surely you will not die if you play this guitar, but you will be like the guitar gods yourself, knowing both

good and bad music" Eve picked up the guitar and looked at it. It was pleasing to behold and felt good. She

played it a bit and then handed it to Adam and he played it. Thus was the birth of lusting Epiphone guitars.

Soon Eve became jealous because Adam spent more time with his Sheraton II NA, fondling it's strings and drooling

over it's body when just looking at it on it's guitar stand.=D>

I love looking at my Sheraton II NA because of it's natural beauty in the naked woodgrain, as opposed to being

partially hidden by a colored finished. The elaborate bling on the fretboard and headstock also enhance it's

visual appeal. I do however also love the VS finish on the top of my Les Paul Standard. It gives the carved maple

top a nice sultry, smokey finish, which is also appealing in it's own plain way. Epiphone sure does make beautiful

looking electric guitars and like a beautiful women, you want to look at them as often as you can.=P~

And Eve was lonely, so she found the snake, and asked: "Can you not help me, in this matter?" The snake answered: "Sure Sister...fondle this red hot SG...feels it's fire and horns!" Adam never saw her, again!

Fade to black!

Hey Charlie Brown I have been reading this forum for a quite some time and I must say you are quite annoying. If you are going to spend your entire life on a forum at least contribute something where people can learn something from it while making it fun. You are destroying what could be a good place to visit for other Epiphone players. Im sure the only ones who will chime in and back you up here and people like paulp_sheraton2, brad, Ron G and layboomo more of your fellow losers who have nothing better to do but waste time on a forum all day acting like 'know it alls' and spewing rubbish! Now STFU and give some other people a chance to make this place like the old forum USED to be.

Something with SUBSTANCE.

Why, thank you, Allenwrench75! I appreciate your input.

If you think I'm "annoying" and a "know it all," you're obviously

not reading things, very closely. I not only allow other opinions,

but welcome them, agreeable, or not. We all post lots of decent

information, but we try to have a little levity, as well. Keep it "fun,"

as well as informative. So, though I do enjoy posting...if you are

the lurker, you say you are, you will have noticed there are lots of

times, and threads I don't contribute to, at all. Sorry you feel the need

to post, in a negative manner. I do my best, not to do that, as often

as possible.

allenwrench, I don't think Charlie Brown meant any harm by his original question. Afterall, much of what sells

in the market is due not only to it's functional purpose, but it many cases sex appeal comes in, too. Hey look at

some of the Epiphone and Gibson advertisements. They show some scantilly clad babe with one of their guitars and

she probably doesn't know the first thing about playing it because she's only a model. Unfortunately, but not always:-k , sex sells products. How often have you heard any of these guys on the forum mention about how much they love

looking at their guitars as much as playing them. You have to admit that Epiphone not only makes guitars that sound

beautiful, but they also look beautiful. That's why I couldn't help my little spin on the Garden of Eden. We're not

wasting anyone's time. The forum is much like television. You may not like everything that's on it, but you have

the option to not tune into a certain thread if you don't like it. This forum is not only educational, but has developed

a lot of virtual friendships and trading of information over the years. Sometimes we like to have fun and I see no harm

in that.

Well, as we all know, you can't please everyone. I don't try...just

try to have a little fun, along with the information sharing. We've all

"strayed" into off topic territory, and most of us have paid the monitor's

price....that's cool! When it get's "personal," I just try to consider the

source, and move on, you know? But, thanks...Paul.

Uh' date=' Jeffery, pardon my ignorance but just what Epi is that beautiful thing?[/quote']

Ron G, I believe what Jeffrey is showing us is a beautiful Epiphone Alleykat. The body's beautiful, but I agee with

him, they have to do something about the headstock. That chrome plate that says Epiphone just doesn't do

anything for the guitar, IMHO.=D>

Charlie Brown, you are a f***in good guy, taking time to answer this A**hole.

We have fun in this forum because of subject that are sometimes out of technicalities and makes us laugh a little bit. Don't bother with this... ( i'll keep it for me ) . Keep posting and never mine negative replies. As you see, he's saying he lives in Hell...he can stay there...

And by the way, nothing else even approach a Les Paul for sex appeal...Lollll
