  2. There are lots of performances posted all over here. What’s the point of owning guitars if you don’t wanna share/hear the sound? The videos/sound posts from our fellow forumites inspire me to work harder.
  3. No S A’s near me. I got a G C 10 minutes away in N. Myrtle to get screwed over by, so I’m good.
  4. There are some videos on YouTube of Sylvia Massy talking about working with Prince that I thought were really interesting. It would be tragic for that studio to close. The design of that studio is amazing. If I were hypothetically some great musician and I had my pick of any studio/engineer to record with, Albini/EA would be my first pick. The album that first made me aware of Albini was Surfer Rosa, which coincidentally is one that he has expressed some regrets over. I love that album though. Steve had a great way of making everything sound “right”. Even if it’s like a piezo acoustic it doesn’t really sound natural but fits the song in a cool way. I can’t think of anyone better at recording drums
  5. Stopped at Cherry Hill NJ Sam Ash yesterday. You can score some pretty sweet deals on "Michael Kelly" guitars, whatever they are. ENTIRE STORE ON SALE prices on guitars that retail at 375 or so, going for a jaw dropping $360. 5%!!!! Unbelievable deals to be had. A few Les Pauls up there, easily two and three hundred apiece more than the GC that is no more than a hundred yards away. Pathetic. Long time and lots of guitars and amps and trades with that place and the one out in King of Prussia PA. Pathetic sad ending. After months of "we got this we're fine hang in there we got this" they were told on Tuesday that the store would be closed by mid-July. So yeah, no. Don't waste your time. rct
  6. Some of these famous players–folks like Clapton, Slash, Bonamassa, etc.–literally have hundreds of guitars. I only have about thirty, and only a couple of them are really noteworthy from a collectability standpoint, so it wouldn't take long for my video, either.
  7. First I’ve ever heard of it. Now all the cool kids will want it. https://guitar.com/features/why-the-martin-gpce-inception-maple-shows-that-americas-oldest-guitar-brand-is-still-a-hotbed-of-innovation/
  8. The Slash Firebird has already been done. They made a limited run of 25 (IIRC) Custom Shop ones. Epiphone also did a limited run of 1,000, of which 100 were signed by Slash. I did a review of one when I was at Harmony Central. https://www.harmonycentral.com/expert-reviews/guitars/epiphone-limited-edition-slash-firebird-r710/ While he's known as primarily a Les Paul player, his guitar collection (as covered in the The Collection: Slash video, as well as The Collection: Slash coffee table book) extends way beyond just Les Pauls, or even just Gibsons. The Collection video series is really worth watching if you're a guitar nerd. My favorite is probably The Collection: Mike Campbell.
  9. I disagree......I'd like to add these images and B-Roll videos to my music videos.
  10. Hey Ed, your guitar is missing something. It’s hard to put my finger on it. What could it be?
  11. I don't know about you guys, but I'm waiting for Gibson Les Paul Standard EVH Signature Series. I'll but that in a hot second.
  12. I think Rabs called this one when he posted “the killing floor” song!😂
  13. Sparky you hit the nail on the head. That is it. They just didn’t have enough teenage angst in my pants songs.
  14. I do love to loath her. All I hear about her is she is so talented cause she writes her own lyrics. Um . . . So do lots of artist. Let me see if I can think of some. The Beatles, Zappa, Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and the list could go on and on, need any more examples?
  15. Good song and video but a forum of people who like to look at pictures of guitars is really not your best choice of a target audience. Good songs though.
  16. Jerry probably sweated as much on stage as Taylor, and he barely had to move to do it.
  17. Gibson hasn’t, and they shove a new one down our throat weekly. The Jessica just came out a week or so ago, now this.
  18. I bought a Epiphone Inspired by Paul Mc Cartney Texan several years ago. It was about $400.00.. I thought I could tune it down a full step, like Mc Cartney does, to play “Yesterday” in G.. It wasn’t a very good sounding Guitar but kept it.. Mostly in the Case I paid extra for.. In a Closet.. About a month ago I finally sent my Gibson Bozeman Solid Top Masterbilt J-160E to Gibson for Warranty work, a Crack repair, Fret Re-dress, Leveling, Polishing & Set up.. I got an email last night it’s finally finished & ready to ship back to me.. More about that when it finally gets home.. Anyhow I’ve had the Texan on a Stand in my Studio for the past month & it’s had some time to open up.. I put new Strings on it before I put it in the Closet a few years ago. Now it’s sounding really good… I think these MIC Guitars need some time to dry, age a little & be left out of their Case in order to open up..
