  1. I love his Brillo pad toupee. It gets me all hot and tingly right in my special area.
  2. No she-I-it. That’s why I said if you don’t know, no one does. And I’m the seen as the huge d-ick on this forum.
  3. Just saw this: https://guitar.com/news/industry-news/fender-class-action-lawsuit-alleging-it-overcharged-millions-guitarists/ I hope JVC doesn’t think I’m staring a hate thread by posting this.
  4. If you don’t know, no one does. But I think I mentioned why it got locked. Some member posted about the shooting and DT, and that was a rap. I wish someone would do that to any “what are the best strings to go on my J-45” thread.
  5. I remember when I saw Kiss for the second time. It was my birthday present form my wife and she reluctantly went with me. I told her look you may not like their music, but it will be a great show, and they are gonna blow stuff up. She called her brother and mentioned we were going to see Kiss and she really wasn't looking forward to it. Her brother said to her on the phone without any coaching form me "Their gonna blow stuff up". I laughed when she told me that. I also told here tons of people will be dressing up. We walked form the parking lot to the car and saw no one dressed up, and my wife was yapping in my ear about it. As we handed out tickets to the lady I said to her "there are lots of people who came dressed up tonight right?". She answered "Yes". About 5 mins later we were walking to our seats and of course we started seeing tons of people dressed up and then my wife started asking all of them if she could take their picture. She did have a good time. Saw them twice with my son after that. The first time I saw Kiss it was the original 4. Kiss may not make great music, but their concerts are entertaining. Of that there is no doubt.
  6. I worked Security for Fake CCR last night. They were called Creedence Revised. They were from Chicago. The band was really cool, and put on a good show. It was the best tribute band I have seen at the place I work so far. Now I'm not trying to start anything, but the last bunch of shows I've been to, I have not seen (maybe 6 or 7 shows) one bassist or guitarist play a Gibson. It's been Fender and Taylor. Except for Lyle on his Collings, and his other guitarist had custom made things. Just an observation. The guy in the Eagles Tribute band even said his white EDS-1275 said Gibson on the headstock, but was built for him and was fake. Cause he was playing it during the sound check and I talked to him about if when I saw him backstage.
  7. Tofu, veggie or plant based hot dog anyone?
  8. Cause someone mentioned the recent 4th of July shooting, and the Orange Messiah in the same sentence. That's why, and if you read it you damn well know that's why. After I read that post, I knew it would be a matter of just as soon as Duane or KSD saw that it would be nuked. The hot dog one is still up, but I'm confident as a forum member were gonna find a way to bring politics ect into it, and it will die.
  9. Maybe partly true. Genes story is one everyone who moves to America wants. He came to America at age 8 with his mom with little to no money, and neither one spoke English. Now this is all stuff I got form watching Kiss docs. Gene said I live in America, and in going to learn to speak English. I applaud that. Then 4 guys form NYC form a band. And if your a musician you know if you can play or not. Kiss probably though and knew they were a sub par band. Then they decided on a gimmick. OK let's play dress up. Paul you dress like a campy porn star, Ace you dress like a space guy, Peter your gonna be a cat, and Gene will be a demon. Why not its the 70's, Elton dressed like Donald Duck. Well along comes a 1975 live album, and now they are gaining momentum, and in a year or two will be one of the biggest acts in music. Ace and Peter are the drinkers and druggies of the band and they come in and out cause their playing was not what the Gene and Paul though it should be. Then Kiss took off the make up and made many more lamer albums than in the 70's and now they are saying good by to us, in a tour that wont end. Let it end Gene. Anyone see the YT footage of Paul singing, or better yet this is more accurate, his vocals are coming out to the crowd, and he is no where near a microphone. Opps . . . busted you cheaters. And if you think they didn't bring in studio musicians to play for Gene at times, well you would be dead wrong. Now Gene is worth $400 million. He is a great businessman, you gotta give him his props for that. Playing the Bass not so much. I though you can the Rush guys were tight and your busting Geddy's balls. A guy who is 1000 x's a better bassist than you Gene.
  10. Man when I was 11, I lived for Kiss. I did mention I saw them 4 times. Now Gene is just a sad old terrible bassist who can stand up for 2 hours in a costume. Poor Geddy with all his talent in Gene’s eyes would pass out doing it. Gene your not the only one who has ever done it. Gwar does it to name one other band who play costume dress up. I did play Destroyer a few weeks back. It’s got a good song or two. Gene should just stick to what he’s good at - poking his wee wee in women and making $. Anyone see the YT vid of him getting schooled by Carol Kaye on bass? It’s been taken down Probably at Gene’s request cause it embarrassed the hell out of him. Gene didn’t even know where the one is. Wait and your a so called bassist.
  11. When I was a kid we used to go to Der Wienerschnitzel. It was in an A frame building, and you used to drive into the middle of it and that was the drive thru. I used to love their corn dogs. After a while they took "Der" out of the name of the place. In Japan on the street across from the base I was stationed at, the Japanese called corn dogs - Stick Dogs.
  12. If its 1977, I'm in my bedroom with my Koss headphones on rocking Kiss - Destroyer, but its not. I've seen Kiss four times (the originals once), and they do put on a great SHOW. Lots of s-hit blows up, Gene spits fire ect ect. There music looking back is ridiculous.
  13. This guy is such a douch, I am too, but he has money, so people listen to him, and believe him, and people care about what he thinks. He is one of the s-hittiest bassist in R N R, and yet he yaps like he is Jaco Pastorius. Gene, Geddy could play your simple bass lines with his toes blindfolded. Good on you for wearing a costume, and riding open E for 2 hours live. Let me think, would I rather listen to guys in costumes make terrible music, or guys in regular street clothes make good music? Survey says no costumes. Geddy doesn't need to play dress up to play circles around an aged sad rocker who's glory years were 45 years ago. https://rockcelebrities.net/gene-simmons-thinks-geddy-lee-would-pass-out-if-he-performed-with-kiss-outfits?utm_source=zergnet.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=zergnet_7239759
  14. Are you asking if they will be available again? And if you are I have no clue.
  15. Polish all your matte guitars and the will sound better. I wonder if I should polish my D-15M?
  16. Its the same as when a gage doesn't read what you want it to, so you tap on it till it does. I saw guys in the military all the time not think the pressure or temperature gage was reading correctly so they would tap on it. If its a tube amp you may have knocked the tube back in its socket. Something was not making good contact before you man handled it.
  17. Why is it Martin can built a new D-28 for what ever they charge, but building a D-28 to 1937 standards and beating it up and it costs 4k more? I there 4k more labor and materials that go into building it or is it all just smoke and mirrors. Are they harvesting some magic wood from 1937 tone wood forest? Just build all D-28's to '37 specs and call it day. Remember most of the guys/girls who recorded and played the music we love did it on instruments at hand that were not fake aged. Blackbird was recorded on a 1967 D-28 in 1968. A one year old non fake aged guitar that sounds damn good. I know his is Braz RW. The stuff of legend.
  18. Did "Weird Al" sing that like he had a handful of marbles in his mouth?
  19. I think guys that work on amps are more electricians than mechanics. Not to many moving parts in an amp except the potentiometer, which is also electrical, and just a variable resistor.
  20. I would love to play those and I bet they sound great, but for me and this is me, I'm not paying a guitar maker to make me new guitar and make it look old, and pay sometimes double for it. Like I mentioned a new D-28 right now is $3199 (that is crazy to me they are that much now), and a new '37 Authentic Aged D-28 is $7999. So beating up a new guitar is worth and extra $4800 to some one? That is the price of another D-28 and strings for about 5 years. But like most say its your $ do what you want with it. How many of you are salivating for Gibson to start doing this?
  21. That is what I would call Road Worn. I know people love to get rusty parts and make Rat Rods out of them. To me it just looks like a rusty truck missing some stuff. How do you decide on a price when you want to sell it?
