  2. I doubt if any of us can sway Sal. He will find something. Sal's had a lot of nice instruments. I'm trying to learn to let them go like him when I'm ready to try something else but haven't mastered it yet.
  3. According to the specs, it's Torrefied Granadillo Flying V 2018 (gibson.com)
  4. I once had a '51 LG1 with a 9-3/4" fretboard radius.
  5. I know what you mean. I've had about 6 mandolins. After I got this one, the others left.
  6. Closer to you Eastman MD315 $800 Listed a week ago in Statesville, NC Marketplace - Eastman MD315 | Facebook

  8. I'm guessing you're not looking for a Gibson F5. I remember you having a mandolin a few years back. I cannot speak on this one but was really impressed with the Cosey guitar I bought from them a few years ago. It was a carved top and back and all the workmanship was top notch. I did not care for the hardware and swapped it out. I looked on their site and saw this. Looks good to me and if you sign up you'll get an extra 10% off. I'm half tempted to get one. Would fit you well playing out with the pickup. Coupert will get you 15% off. Eastwood MRG Mandolin - Electric Mandolin – Eastwood Guitars
  9. Price seems okay if it were in better shape. I recently bought a 2018 for $1100 USD. It was mint. It had the pups swapped out, but the originals were included.
  10. I guess everyone has a gentle side
  11. I've had the operation on the middle finger on both hands. I could use the hand immediately after the stiches healed, but it took about 5 months for full recovery. This is a good time of the year for the operation. Best of luck.
  12. All of our skin is going to look like that if we get old enough.
  13. And that’s ‘played’, not owned. About like my ‘52 J45. It was owned by a neighbor of Lonnie Mack and he was supposed to have played it on occasions when visiting. Gives the guitar an interesting story but that’s all.
  14. Mine fail in comparison to some of our other members like SlimT, TomB and JohnT. and probably a few more. I have been downsizing.
  15. The neck feels good for me. The Legend has a baseball bat chunky neck. I can get around it but I'm not going to be wrapping that thumb around. After a year or two with the SJ, I moved the Legend. I've got some slim taper necks but don't like a wide nut with that shape. The standard 1.724" nut feels better with the slim taper. For me, The C shape works better with a 1.75"-1.77" nut.
  16. I ordered one of the '42 SJ Banners in 2019 and received it in 2020. Couldn't be happier with it. I like the sound of the aged top and I like the C shaped neck. As I'm getting older, I prefer not to wrestle with the larger thicker necks. This one feels great. Shown here next to a 2010 J45 Legend and a 1952 J45.
  17. As Dan says. This can probably be seen on all the modern acoustic from the Montana plant, The hole may move depending on the model.
  18. Love that dark burst! That small body has been my favorite of late. Enjoy it!
  19. A few years ago I purchased a CS J200 from GC. It had the buzz. I had the in-house luthier check it before I bought it. It was a couple frets (around the 14th-17th position) that had popped up. He tapped them down and the issue went away.
  20. I have an Imgur account, but I use Flicker most of the time. I just uploaded this picture to Imgur. I clicked on post picture. Below showed up, I right clicked the mouse, clicked on Copy image link, then pasted that link into this response (see bottom picture) Hope it helps p.s. This is my Granddog's 2nd Bday pict.
  21. Maybe that's where Gibson gets the thump?
  22. repost this in the acoustic lounge, you'll get more response.
  23. I remember running to the record store to get every new record from them. The only time I was disappointed is when Slow Down/ Matchbox came out. The pressed record had a flaw that caused a skip and we could not find a good one in the batch. I noticed it did not do that well on the charts. I still liked it.
