  1. I think all the old avatars look a bit messy Notes, I updated with a new one very clear after that..
  2. oh yea, you're right. that is the total allowed.
  3. Awesome.. my work here is done...
  4. you must strive for perfection, one warning a day, do the right thing!!
  5. Taylor usually gets slagged on by everybody. They mock what they cannot understand.... !LOL!
  6. A tele and a strat, and now a LP, you've got it all just about covered! I wouldn't worry about the "hum" they all make some kinda noise, something you're not unfamiliar with given what else is in your collection.
  7. I'm probably on the conservative side of caution, I've seen a few nice guitars that were turned into train wrecks b/c of climate flux issues. Those guys thought it would be "okay" too but in the end, I guess it wasn't quite what it seemed.
  8. "Does anyone have a suggestion for image hosting? I could not get Flickr to work. " if the file is the right size (0.46mb max) you can just drag it into the edit window with the new forum layout.
  9. This is pro vs con as why so many of us keep the guitars cased until it's time to play them.
  10. she does seem to like the camera! 🙂
  11. Sort of the same, but I roll the strap up and tuck it in the "box" under the neck, the truss rod tool keeps it company.
  12. It's hard to beat a good 335, like FZ says, very versatile guitar. I'd love to have one of those bad boys myself. ...some day...
  13. The new format is nice! Many thanks to whom ever put the work in to do this upgrade.
  14. I have to test this attachment thing, it can't be this easy..
  15. I tend to keep going home to elixirs too (nano pbs, mostly) it's what I'm used to and they last a good long while. But I do also like Masterbuilts. I tend to lean toward the PBs myself. I have been considering running another course of MBs on my next string changes
  16. It's horses for courses I suppose. Of course they are all made in China, but like any of the trillions of knock off products coming out o there, hard to know what you're getting. The Dunlop pins offer no way to stop the strap from slipping off either, no flange at all. Which is the same with Schalers, so you're pretty much stuffed either way. The washers work great, but you have to keep the strap on, which is ok if you use nylon (seat belt) straps or very thin straps. Thicker leather and suede straps (which I like to use) have to be removed most of the time for your guitar to properly seat in the case. As for the ones you bought, yea they are probably fine Larry, maybe it's just me, but I don't know how much faith I'd put in them. The stuff coming from Asia is a crap shot these days, so I supposed either way.... Just check them from time to time. The strap side nut can get lose, (lock tight may help?) and you don't ever want the locking piece on the strap to not have the bottom of it (the "U") facing the floor.
  17. I like the new format, it's very similar to a lot of the apps and tools that I use at work.
  18. SJ200, and -- not a martin --- begins with T, ends with R... I've never played a martin my fretting hand gets along well with.
  19. Other than cost confidence, is there any practical concern about the OP items? Here are some more cheap locks from trusted brands. I guess the answer is no, I have no experience or knowledge with these. I wouldn't use em, for the same reason I wouldn't put a set of 2 dollar strings on my guitar. Cost Confidence is probably it.
  20. late to the party here but, if you have to stop and ask, then it's probably better to move on to the next one. There's plenty out there. If it was me I'd find one that I have no concerns over, or I'd just go with purchasing a new one.
  21. Man, that sucks when you buy something used, and the history from the previous owner is a mystery. Kind of takes the "good faith" stuff we rely on for these transactions and sets fire to it. Have you had any professional repair guys that do refins look at it? stripping it all off and a complete redo sounds the only true way out. I can't imagine how much that would run, but it may be more than the guitar would be worth. Then again, if the guitar is worth it to you..
  22. It's not a great amp for jams and gigs, it's just to dam heavy. But that said, sounds real good. Just don't want to move it, ever...
  23. these are the times that try men's souls.. Labor on brutha..
