Even though you didn’t know what I was asking, you answered my question. I’m sending my 00-15 to Jake Wildwood after the 1st of the year for a neck reset. Would have never thought to shave the bridge. Jake has done resets for me before, it wasn’t all that costly., the guitars always come back to me better than when I sent them. I would still not think to shave the bridge as an alternative. Sorry that is not an option. With all this guy ends up doing to this guitar, it couldn’t have been much of a savings.

If the customer had told me, he didn’t want to do a neck reset, I would have simply given his guitar back. That would have been the end of my involvement with this guitar.

I watched that one too. Couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I’m no luthier, but if the owner didn’t want another pick guard, I would have left it the way I found it. In my opinion it looked better before he fixed it. I thought the kid did a good job with the 185, & would have been happy with the end result. I think they charge about $100. Per hour. Wouldn’t want to spend hundreds on cleaning those braces. The kid said they were spongy, & one was broken. he also said the oversized bride plate was to correct a bulge? Making your work cost effective, sometimes means doing the best you can with what you’ve got. the owner didn’t strike me as someone with an endless supply of money. If the owner is happy, I am too.

Didn’t appreciate his playing either. I did enjoy the history of the guitar though. maybe the guitar will make him a better player?

Thanks for the review. About what I expected. I have no interest in these guitars. They don’t appeal to me at all.

Had a lady friend in the 70’s who used her student loan to buy a J-200 for $500. I remember thinking, (damn, that’s a lot of money)

What a deal. Blue light special? I think I paid $3.00 when it came out.

Walmart isn’t rolling back prices either. Dollar Tree is raising their prices too.

I never owned any electric guitar. I like Martin’s, & Gibson’s, & Guilds & Seagulls, & a host of other guitars. Very few that I would say I don’t like, & even at that I probably dislike some for some very stupid reasons. Guitars to me are kind of like women. I have to be physically attracted first. Some guitars just don’t give me any reason to want to play them. When I say attractive, I don’t necessarily mean beautiful . I think the J-200 Ksdaddy just got is awesome,& would love the opportunity to strum a few cords on it.

I’ve owned a few of them too. Finally ended up with a 0015.

I like them too. If they don’t give you the sound you’re looking just try something else. I tried the Martin Authentic 2.0’s & hated them. I do understand.
