  1. I have a Dreadnaught JR 2 that I like. Seems these Mexico martins can be hit, or miss. Mine works fine. Got it a few yrs ago, for $135. & it included a Martin hard shell case. Can’t complain.
  2. I’ve been eyeballing these for while. They come in 12, & 14 fret models.. They’re starting to pop up used now. https://reverb.com/item/32621827-martin-0-15-custom-2018
  3. I love the Martin 15 series too. I have a 1998 00-15 congrats on a nice guitar. Enjoy.
  4. Nobody in my family plays anything. Never owned an electric guitar. My father bought me my first decent guitar around 1967, 68? A Gibson B-25 for $80.00 at a pawn shop. I showed my son some cords when he was about 15. Won’t say I taught him to play, cause I don’t actually think you can teach anybody that. That’s up to the individual as to how far they take it. You can show some cords, maybe some picking patterns ect. My son has a nice collection of guitars these days, & plays much better than I do. He never developed the love of Gibson guitars that I have, but he has some very nice guitars never the less. I played mostly with friends growing up. I hope your daughter is having the time of her life , playing music with her friends. There’s certainly worse things she could be doing.
  5. Never missed an episode of Roy Rodgers!
  6. My mother had insisted on piano lesson for me. I wasn't having any of that. Went to a couple lesson thinking what am I doing here. I did have a coon skin cap though. I thought Davey was pretty cool.
  7. I was a child of Eisenhower (as Billy Joel put it) my dad hated Elvis, but my mom loved him. Elvis is the reason I got my first guitar. My mom paid $25.00 for red, & black sunburst Stella, that was very hard on the fingers.
  8. I feel the same about my 2000 J-200. (Maple) ever time I pick it up I’m amazed.
  9. Maybe just me, but I prefer phosphor bronze on my one & only Rosewood guitar. (J-45) to me they just bring it to life more than 80/20 ‘s do. I use 80/ 20’s on everything else. Maple, & Mahogany. I use various different brands.
  10. Yes the pro came out after. Mine is the plain old EL00 no electronics, & I believe a skinnier neck? I bought it sight unseen as a result of the reaction to the guitar on this forum as well as the Gibson forum. I was just curious . I love the thing. No particular reason for my question.. curiosity, that’s all.
  11. Mine is a 2011. As I recall this was within the first 2 or 3 years of coming out with this model. Am I even close to being correct? just wondering.
  12. Specs say Ebony fingerboard, & bridge. So........never mind.
  13. Nice. Have to Agee with Sgt, though. Richlite ruins the whole thing for me.
  14. He should give his mothers computer back, & go to his room.
  15. Tite bond was used to repair my broken headstock. Luthier said “it’s stronger than the wood” I agree!
  16. I’ve had a couple of those JF-30’s . I always enjoy 12 strings for a while, but always end up selling them out of guilt. They seem to always end up living in their cases after a while. I feel bad, & decide they would be better off with someone who will actually play them.
  17. Yes, I like her too. I have some of her stuff, but haven’t heard that one before. Very nice.
  18. After 70 years of living, I’m feeling pretty good considering the shape i’m In.
  19. Trying to convince myself to patch the roof. As far as guitar is concerned, been teaching myself alternative tunings. Haven’t played in standard tuning for about a year & 1/2
  20. J-45 necks for $100 & $150. Last time I checked with Gibson they said $1500.
  21. I think he was there for both. I think he left in 2013??? Could be wrong about that though. Someone else could probably tell you for certain. He was definitely there for the Dove.
