That saddle is really high. Holy crap!

String gauge should have nothing to do with cracking the saddle. I think the saddle was defective. I use all different gauges from time to time,& have never cracked a saddle.

Still trying to figure out posting pics???? -
Before moving to the middle of nowhere, I lived in Phoenix for almost 40 years. My J-45 & I spent many mornings by the pool having my morning coffee. Didn’t affect my guitar at all..

Is it a salt water water pool, or are you using saltwater generators to make chlorine? there is a difference. either way playing your guitar near the pool won’t hurt it per say. There are of course other considerations, like the weather.

Gibson J-45: dark grain stripes on guitar top. Yes or No?
Paul14 replied to Wolfi's topic in Gibson Acoustic
Don't know why some refer to this top as flawed. The top was carefully selected for this J-45. I call it unique, not the least bit flawed. Why is it important that every J-45 look exactly the same? -

My J-50 has very similar grain pattern. I love it . I think that J-45 is awesome. -
J-200 strings -hey Its so hard to play on it
Paul14 replied to Zoneia pub's topic in Gibson Acoustic
Jinder are you using p bronze, or 80/20’s? The reason I ask is it is difficult to impossible to find the dr veritas strings in 80/20’s. -

I’m encouraged to here this. Been debating doing the same. I think you just help make up my mind. Next string change on the J-200,,,,,, 11’s are going on there. -

I have a set of Martin retros on mine 13's. Going to go back to 12's though. You might need a set up? Why not let a tech have a look at it? The store guy sounds like he's not the guy you should be listening to. Maybe even try a set of 11's. I have 11's on my J-45 & I like them a lot. -
As already stated,,,,how about a complet pic of the guitar?

Interested in learning more about old tenor banjo

The attachment works for me. Unfortunately I know nothing about this or any other banjo. -
Anyone want to guess a price on the new Noel Gallagher J-150?

Fascinating is the word. I've been following this thread, & it's truly fascinating. Never seen anything quite like this. And I'm old!! -

Got to love everything about that one. Congratulations on a gorgeous guitar. That case ain’t to shabby either. Very, very nice. -
I find the Hummingbird similar to other guitars, like the J-45. The Dove is a rare , & a unique bird, unlike anything else. At least anything I can think of.
-
I agree. I like the deluxe the best too.
-
Been looking at these too. They also make a J-45. You can find better prices if you look around a little bit.

Have to admit I had no idea who Noel Gallagher is. After this thread I went & listened to some of his music. I’m impressed! Not in the market for a new guitar of any description, but I get what the excitement is about. Good luck to anyone wanting one of these, -
Bought bone pins, & saddle from Bob Colosi . Mine is a 2005. Size 2A fit perfectly.

“The thing will survive being run over by a car but weighs as much as a boat anchor. “ Mine was run over by an suv. The Gibson case was totaled. The guitar headstock was repaired, & the J-45 still resides with me to this day.

My advice is to get a new Luthier! Never heard such nonsense come out of a Luthier’s mouth before.
-
Nice job. Not easy , those Waits songs. You nailed it. The J-45 is gorgeous.

Wish my bank account looked as nice as the Texan. Oh well
