I like them all! P90’s are my favorite Pickups. I have a Gibson Les Paul Special with P90’s, an Epiphone USA Casino, a Epiphone Revolution Casino, a 50th Anniv. 1961 RI. Casino all have Gibson USA P90’s.. A great group of fantastic Guitars. Each slightly different sounding but all beautiful.. I also have a MIC Epiphone Casino I recently upgraded with Fralin P-90’s & Mojotone 500k Electronics Pots, Caps with Switchcraft 3 Way Switch & Jack.. It’s Sound is right up there with the others.. They make me happy!

I’m sorry to hear your Wife passed away.. I can’t even imagine.. May that new Guitar bring you some peace & joy.. God Bless.

My condolences to you.. Sorry about your Wifes passing.. You do need to something to ease your pain.. That is a beautiful Guitar!! You can write many songs with it for sure.. Great therapy.

I read somewhere Jimi had problems with that Flying V Guitar.. They aren’t the easiest Guitar to hold standing or sitting.. Whereas a Strat is a very comfortable Guitar sitting or standing.. Both have long been associated mostly with Fender Strats… Clapton with Martin Acoustics..

Sounds like many articles I read before Covid. However, the Population of the World isn’t shrinking.. It’s increasing exponentially. Last time I checked, more Guitars are being sold today than ever. The most desirable Gibsons produced in 1959 were numbered by 100’s not thousands.. They are still a great hedge against inflation.. Recent numbers of bands playing Guitars has increased., Country is bigger than ever.. Rap is starting to wane.. Rock is even starting to make a comeback.. I just read 100,000 new Songs are released everyday on Spotify.. Most of them aren’t making any money. But, there still is vast number of people making music.. Why? Who knows? But, they are…

I got my first Pedal way back in ‘69.. A Fuzz Wah! LOL!! It was great! But, it disappeared! I really liked that one.. I have boxes full of Pedals.. All kinds of them.. Mostly stored in my Garage. I don’t even know what all is in them? Currently my Pedalboard consists of a Janglebox Byrds Compressor, Boss Tuner, Ibanez TS-808 Tube Screamer, Boss Fender ‘63 Reverb, Boss Digital Delay & a Keeley 30 ms Double Tracker.. I use them for my Electric Guitars mostly. I have a Looper I seldom use & a Band Jam Pedal that I seldom use either… They’re ok… I guess… I just don’t use them.. Most of the time I don’t use Pedals on my Acoustic Guitars. If I play Live I use my Fender or Vox Amps. I might add a little Reverb. I don’t use Chorus, Delay etc. much, if at all anymore.. I like to Mic but they’re a hassle to haul around extra Stands so I don’t do that anymore. I do prefer as Organic a Sound as possible..

I am left handed & play right handed & throw a Ball & Bat right handed.. I think it was because I only had access to a right handed Baseball Glove & a right handed Guitar. Just about everything else I do left handed.. Although, I can do a lot of things right or left handed.. I do use dynamics in my Picking styles.. Depending on the music I play.. I like the idea of Picks with better grip.. I use a gray colored one that has a grip.. Can’t think of it’s brand name.. They’re pretty good but I don’t care for the softer rubbery plastic they’re made of as I think it takes away from the sound.. But, I like the grip.. I’d like to find the perfect Pick with some type of grip..

The guy on that forum must’ve been talking about the more recent Clapton Signature Strat which has Active Electronics. Was your A/B Test with the Signature Clapton Strat with Active Electronics? If not, that would explain the difference… As mentioned there are lots of Clapton special, signature, Ltd edition & Custom Shop models.. But, the guy on that other forum had to have been talking about one of these or one of the others with Active Electronics.. That’s the only thing that makes any sense…

This.. It indeed does have Battery Powered Active Electronics.. And it is a powerful Guitar. By no means a non active standard Strat.. No comparison… Totally different Guitar..

I pretty much own Trucks for myself.. I've owned Fords & Chevys for the past 40+ years.. With no major problems with either. My Has had Lexus for the past 30 years.. No problems with them either.. Pretty much Standard Periodic Service.. Tires..

I’ve been playing a J-160E for over 20 years.. It is a Bozeman Masterbilt from 2001.. Mine has a Solid Spruce Top. Unlike most J-160E’s which are Ply Tops. In my opinion it is the best sounding Gibson Jumbo Slope Shoulder Acoustic Electric Guitar. It is the same model Guitar that John Lennon & George Harrison owned & played on countless Records.. With a P-90 Pickup on the Top next to the neck.. They have a 15 fret Soundboard.. Unlike most, if not all, J Slope Shoulder Dreads which 14 fret Soundboards.. A beautiful & great sounding Guitar.. I’ve wanted one since the first time I saw “Hard Days Night” many years ago.. I’ve read it is the only Guitar that appears on every Beatles Album…

Yes. There are some. Usually it’s pointed out clearly in the Specs.. And reflected in Price.. I know the IBJL Epiphone Revolution Casino I bought had USA Gibson P-90’s, upgraded Pots & Caps, Switchcraft Jack & 3 way Switch. It’s an excellent Guitar.. But, it’s not clear about the new Banner J45 or the ‘57 J-200… Though, they do mention L.R. Baggs VTC, Scalloped Bracing & Thermo Spruce Top..

Not saying China can’t build quality.. It seems more possible a Chinese Acoustic Guitar might be better than a Chinese Electric Guitar.. As quality Gibson Pickups, 500k Electronics, Pots, Caps, Switchcraft Jacks & Switches account for most of the Sound from Gibson Electric Guitar’s. Chinese Electric Guitars can be Platforms to Mod but $ Hundreds of Dollars for Parts & Labor to make them sound comparable. I’d rather buy a USA Gibson. Whereas being an Acoustic Guitar those high cost items aren’t a factor..

Right, I don’t need it.. I have several Guitars.. But, I might want it.. I wasn’t sure where it was built.. I was hoping Korea.. I don’t think Japan could do that price point.. That would be nice though… I've seen some nice MIC Guitars but would be more interested if was make in Korea.. I’m sending my Bozeman Solid Top J-160E to Gibson to repair a fine crack about 6-7 inches long on the Side. Fret Re-dress & anything else they think it needs.. So a back up would be nice as Gibson will have it for a couple months or so..

They charge a lot of money for Guitars today. There’s no reason why Epiphone shouldn’t build excellent Guitars. There’s no reason why Gibson shouldn’t always be the step up.. Competition is good..
