  1. I believe my Dad’s 57 Cad Convertible was Tahoe Blue.. See Chart below.. https://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/colour_swatch_cadillac_1957
  2. Check here… https://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/colour_swatch_cadillac_1985
  3. Right, most of the Colors on Gibson & Fender Guitars comes from 50’s GM Color Charts.. There were some wild Colors on Cars in those days.. I remember in 1957 my Dad brought home Light Blue Cadillac Eldorado Brougham Convertible.. With matching Interior.. It was one the most beautiful Cars I’ve ever seen.. Still is.. I don’t remember the name of the color though.. May have been like Pelham Blue? But, Cadillac would give their colors fancier names, even if they were the same color as a Chevy….
  4. I happened to see this today & WOW! I’ve got GAS! https://www.gibson.com/en-US/Electric-Guitar/CUSUR2452
  5. My first Hopalong Cassidy Guitar, when I was about 6, was such a POS Guitar it was the main reason I didn’t start playing until I was in the Army… They had some pretty great old Gibson Archtop Acoustic Guitars at the Service Club.. I realized that there were Guitars that I might be able to play..
  6. I’m sure there were no shortage of women in his life.. Plenty of Woman Tone to inspire his Sound… LOL..
  7. I read or heard in one of Clapton’s interviews a long time ago… That he thought it reminded him of a Woman moaning in ecstasy.. Hence the term, Woman Tone.. Although my original point was not about origins. It was to set it straight that I was not insulting the OP of that Thread as suggested… That’s all. While I may not agree with someone’s view I do my best not to insult anyone.. BTW, this Thread was supposed to be about Woman Tone.. Not Politics…
  8. I would love to see hear those Diamonds! I get what you’re saying about not going out due to cost & condition..
  9. Whitefang thought I was insulting you.. He is or was unfamiliar with Clapton’s Woman Tone.. Honest mistake.. Lots of things I’ve never heard of… Personally I loved the Sound Clapton had with Cream.. And I love his Acoustic Playing…
  10. Which 2 Gibsons & which 2 Martins do you play the most?
  11. On another Thread someone thought I was being rude to a new Guy that was trying to learn Slide on a Clapton song from his Teacher.. I asked if he was trying for the Woman Tone? It was a serious question & I wasn’t being rude.. Anyhow for those who may not be aware of Clapton’s Woman Tone here are a couple You Tubes.. There’s even a Woman Tone Pedal
  12. There’s also a Tibute to Eric Clapton’s Woman Tone Pedal….
  13. For those unfamiliar with Eric Clapton’s Woman Tone….
  14. I got a New Gretsch G-6136T-59GE Vintage Select White Falcon! Merry Christmas to all & to all keep Rockin’!
  15. Best of luck getting the astound you want.. I look forward to hearing how it comes out.. Like most here I fell in love with J-45’s many moons ago.. One day I heard that Gibson Bozeman was building a Ltd Edition Masterbilt Solid Top J-160E.. (For the past 30 years, In addition to Electric Guitars, I played Acoustic Electric Guitars with Bands). I’ve played many plywood Top J-160’s & just never thought they sounded very good.. I was reluctant.. But, I always thought John Lennon’s J-160E was about the best & coolest looking Acoustic Guitar…. Period! So this new Ltd Edition J-160E had Solid Spruce Top with Mahogany Back & Sides, a P-90 (which I love) & great looking, very functional Volume & Tone knobs conveniently located on the front of the Guitar.. I ordered one.. Long story short.. In many ways it was very reminiscent of many J-45’s I’d played.. In it’s Sound & feel.. Acousticaly it seemed to have a bigger Sound.. Plugged in to my Fender & Vox Amp the P90, WOW, what a great Sound! I think I really lucked out with this one.. I’ve been wanting to get another J-45 & have played a bunch.. All very nice! But, I haven’t found a better Sounding one than my J-160E.. I still am looking for the right J-45 though….
  16. And there it is! I wonder if if someone saw a Negative of a regular Martin & said hey, this is cool! Let’s build one or two!
  17. Over the years I’ve bought Guitars, Bass’, Amps, PA’s, Monitors, Mics, Drums.. Two Recording Studio’s full of Recording Gear… I’m still helping the Band! I still have most of it.. Still playing in Bands, Gigging, Writing Songs & Recording…. I’m not done yet.. I do have some Gear I should sell though..
  18. You’re close. If it’s Brand new, in the wrapper, untouched I think 20% off for that Guitar is a deal! If it’s a Floor model I’d want a bigger discount..
  19. So is there any info about condition? Pics? COA? Etc? I know someone who might be interested if it checks out not to be BS… I doubt selling this Guitar will turn the guy into a financial genius or solve his long term financial problems.. My advice to him is, don’t retire, tell your wife to get a job. You need to save for what you have left.. I wish them luck.
  20. Right.. Also John Fogerty got some really great Sound thru his Ric.. I have a Maple Glo Ric-360 6 String & a Fire Glo Ric-360 12 String & they’re amazingly great Guitars! Build quality is outstanding.. Like Custom Shop.. The Necks are some of the best I’ve ever played.. Especially the 6 String.. Their Sound is amazing! 2 of my favorites! Especially thru a good Vox Amp with Celestion Alnico Blues…..
  21. I watched a Movie or Documentary & if I’m not mistaken Muddy Waters told the same story…
  22. This is the current new Inventory at Sweetwater.. Glad I bought my V when I did.. https://www.sweetwater.com/c589--Gibson_Custom--Firebird--Electric_Guitars

    New ES-335

My old 1959 ES-345 Stereo had Parrellogram Inlays which I like the most on ES Guitars.. What a beautiful Guitar that was…. One of 2 Guitars, I’ve sold, that I miss… Although, I’m quite happy with my Memphis ES-335…..
