On the inside of your Martin, I'd put a partially opened can of sardines.  After an hour, the smoke smell will be gone. 😇

So then how does he get rid of the cats?  And personally, comparing the odors, I'd rather smell the cigarette smoke than the sardines.

  2. The singing might not be too difficult since dozens of Beatle tribute bands have a "Paul" that sound spot on, and the playing bass lefty need only the "clone" to mime the left handed playing while an off stage unseen bassist plays the actual notes.  The fake Paul can actually be trained to make it look like he's actually playing left handed AND hitting all the right notes.  It's been don on other instruments by actors.  Like;

You didn't think Richard Dreyfus was really playing this piano, did you?  [wink]  (go to 1:00 in)

  3. But in the case I took advantage of, I think you meant to put "carry"

And speaking as one who once caddied for a spell, having them standing there with those usually not so light bags hanging on their shoulders while all that fol de rol is going on is really unfair.

I want to make golf more exciting,  I think we could mix NFL & Pro Golf,  once the player is squared off over the Tee, the ref blows a whistle and a NFL D'back will charge the player from 15 yards.. The player  can't be tackled after he hits the ball off the T.  The caddie is allowed to block but can't hold or tackle.

Repeat on each approach until you get on the green,  now the D'back lines up opposite the player, Equal distance from the cup, once the player nods he is set, the ref  blows the whistle,  the D'back waits till he sees the club move forward,  then he can tackle, the caddie is allowed to block (caddies line up one yard behind the player on right of left but can't break his stance until he hears the club strike the ball,, caddies must Carrie the bags on their shoulders at all times accept when aiding the player in picking a club)

Maybe mix NASCAR NFL & PGA , caddies could chase D'back`s with golf carts between the T and greens.

Carrie?   Now, THAT would make it interesting!  [wink]

I had a scumbag boss once

Besides, there's always Karma; with any luck he'll do a Heimlich on someone else (since it saved his miserable butt) and get fired for sexual harassment.

Once?  How'd you manage that?  In nearly 30 years at GM I had  I had as many as 14 bosses.  And only THREE that weren't scumbags.

And Karma would be him choking again but with nobody giving him the Heimlich.  [wink]

But as for the dog story.  I agree with Ksdaddy;  Good on you.

A lot of kids would go hunting with their Dads when we were young.. Being taught how to handle Firearms when you were young used to be a way of life..

I never(and still don't) owned a real gun.  And as a kid, B B guns were too expensive for my single Mother to afford, and by the time they were affordable for us I outgrew the interest in having one.

In grade school, there was a kid named, oddly enough, Paul Neuman( pronounced like the actor, but nowhere as good looking) who had his own shotgun his Dad got him so they could duck hunt together.  It got him a lot of "cool" points in school among the rest of us guys.

Over the years I've had occasion to drive by his house many times and going by I'd often wonder whatever became of him.

And Butch, finding that kid sized nylon stringed guitar for a "lefty" might not be possible, but if you get it at a music store you could ask what it might cost to convert it for you.

The guitar is 500% better than when I got it. It’s out right now. I have to stick my nose up to the sound hole to even get a faint whiff of cancer sticks.

Yeah, cute.  I know you knew what I meant.

    Sorry to hear about this.

All we can do is what we believe will give ourselves the best chances of survival.  Eating good, not smoking...  No guarantees that's for sure.  I watched a few people I knew die from smoking - and it is because they smoked that they died at ages like 60 and 70 with POOR quality of life.  I don't want to spend years being carted around with O2 tanks or have to use some vibrator on my throat because my trachea gets removed - all because I wanted to smoke cigarettes.  I don't want my kids to have to ever see me like that - or deal with it if I can help it.

And I've know a few who died at those ages from drinking.  And smokers, like my Father in law who smoked up to a week or two before he died at age 86.  And he had two younger brothers who drank themselves to death by ages 45 and 50.  And I had a step sister who neither smoked or drank but died of some kind of cancer when she was not quite 50.

    No guarantees is right.

  8. Kinda seems that way.  Would be certain of it if he suggested giving all the players broadswords.  [wink]

I've long had an idea on how to make football a bit more exciting---

Do away with the "first and 10" nonsense.  I mean, the team with the ball has only four downs to get into the end zone or hand over the ball to the other team on wherever the line of scrimmage is.  Then THAT team only has four downs.  And the "field goal" has to be when someone gets the ball between the goal posts on the first bounce. AFTER he throws it hard on the ground. [tongue]

She was very good on the guitar though, I tried to get the grandkids interested in guitar but think I'm loosing them. They never want to press the strings down, Hurts they say.

Well, take a hint from that girl in the video.

Buy 'em inexpensive guitars with nylon strings(if you haven't already)  The mistake I made when trying to get my daughters to learn guitar was buying a "cheapie" guitar with steel strings.  That "hurts the fingers" thing killed it for them too.

  10. Well jvi,  our main problem is too many people having different opinions as to what kind of country the U.S. is SUPPOSED to be.

Christian, Atheist, agnostic, interfaith, right, left,  forward looking, unchanging, white powered, black powered, diverse, inclusive, elitist, capitalist, "socialist"( for those who actually know what that is),  youth centered, age centered or not centered at all.

It can drive a person nuts.  For more than a hundred years we had a statue on our East coast beckoning people to come here and join us.  Now we have people who want to build walls to keep 'em out.  But as for me jvi,  you and yours are welcome here anytime.

. My mom quit for many years, went back to have to go through quitting all over again…

My Mom quit in '80.  But died 19 years later of a cancerous tumor attached to both of her lungs.   But to be honest....

The cancer treatment(Chemo and radiation) caused other problems that were more or less the cause of death.

Back to the smoke smell in a guitar.....

I like that dryer sheet idea.   If it's an acoustic.  There's also a product(discovered in my weed smoking days) called OZIUM  that comes in a spray, gel and discs.  Does a good job
