  1. Oh, the "wth makes you think you can pull that off"-pants 😄
  2. I thank the Lord I don't even know what yoga pants are. Not sure they're necessary for yoga? It's like with bicycling. I love it when I see some guy (it's always guys) with a super expensive bike, covered in neon clothing, a designer helmet and the fastest wraparound sunglasses ever made, doing 3 mph. I generally try not to be judgemental, so it's nice to indulge once in a while, smile and think, oh good god, if only you knew how dorky you look.
  3. Kirk Hammett did some expensive relic'ing of Greeny. After he bought it, he tipped it off a guitar stand and broke off the headstock, I think it was. I think it's in his "Icons" interview on Gibson's Youtube channel - well worth a watch, btw. You all know what I think off latterday Metallica, but regardless, it was a very insightful interview. He does seem like a very good person and a very nice guy, even more so in his older years. It was a very good interview.
  4. Some weird inverted cork-sniffery? Plus they don't have to hunt them down, I suppose. I dunno - I don't get the relic thing at all, so who knows.
  5. Never fail to appreciate the good things in your life while you have them.
  6. On principle, I'd say let's force Michael Moore to do it.
  7. I've no idea. I guess you look at pictures of the original Greeny for a good year, or something. I think you're right in that they mostly sell to well-off collectors. Good for them, I guess. I'm not big on collecting anything, really. I like using things I buy. It makes sense to me.
  8. They probably sell, or they wouldn't do it. So good for them.
  9. All good questions. Next thing you know, they'll introduce a system to keep the relic'd guitar from not deterorating further and changing the grade of relic-ing. It's not for me. I don't see it as an inherently good thing, buying a new guitar that's been forced into old age and marked up. But those who do, great. It doesn't upset me.
  10. Let's not forget the Star Trek Flying V. On second thought, let's.
  11. Will check it out. Thanks.
  12. Great band that are kind of unknown for some reason.
  13. I love Toontrack, but do NOT waste your money on EZbass. It's crap.
  14. They wouldn't have made a difference anyway. No one pays attention to them, sadly.
  15. He signs it "$immons". No, I'm not kidding, he's made a point of it. A real artist.
  16. To be fair though, I would say the Gibson price hike is more extreme than the Fender price hike, right? Then again, there was a lot of demand once they stopped drilling cheese holes in guitars. So they've capitalized on that. If all of a sudden there was a sudden huge demand for Strats, Fender would likely do the same. Like you guys say, it's capitalism. But the question is if it's sustainable and where it'll go.
  17. That's the slightly less diplomatic version, but yes, there you go.
  18. And that's comparatively "cheap". It'll be interesting to see if there will be a lot of guitars collecting dust at retailers for a long time now. Try running it by your partner - "oh, gas is up again, but I stockpiled canned goods that were on sale and saved ten bucks. Oh, btw, how about I buy a guitar for three grand?" Hell, try running it by yourself. I think fewer retailers will stock Gibsons in a few years? As for how it's possible, well, Gibson has sold a lot of guitars in the last five years, so of course they won't do a pre-emptive slashing of the prices. But the past five years won't resemble the next five years, I don't think.
