  1. To be brutally frank, you're probably gonna have a hard time selling that. Not many people like their Gibsons scribbled on, and a T-shirt manufacturer's logo doesn't exactly make it any more desirable.
  2. Same. To me, there's never been better rock 'n roll made neither before or after.
  3. I'm not as into looking up new artists as when I was younger, but I try to make a concerted effort from time to time. As for streaming and all that - love it. It is what you make of it. If someone told me when I was a kid that one day I'd have all the world's albums at my fingertips playing from my phone into cordless in-ears... well, that would be Christmas, wouldn't it? If we don't take our time to dive as deep into albums because we're spoiled for choice, well, that's our own fault. But yes, obviously it's a human trait to look around and skip tracks. But hey - not the medium's fault. If there wasn't a Spotify, would we still obsessively search out album after album at 50 like we did when we were 15? I don't think so. It'd be the same, except for we'd have to pay much, much, more for much, much, MUCH less. That's my opinion anyway.
  4. The Tributes are cheaper. From what I can see both guitars (if the Studio is the current model) come with 490 / 496 humbuckers, but the Studio apparently comes with "ultra modern" weight relief, which would make it more weight-relieved than the Tribute which I believe has 9-hole weight relief. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I've never played one that was chambered (ultra-modern weight relief), so I don't really know what they're like. Personally I would hold out for a Standard.
  5. Get it to a luthier. It might be high resonance, but the resonance is rattling SOMETHING. Wood vibrating doesn't buzz on its own.
  6. Or are they replace with B's? Inquiring minds and all that...
  7. What TRC is in the baby picture? If there is one included with the Slash models, but I'm assuming there is. If the correct cover is on there, then something fishy is going on. If the wrong cover is on there, a (ridiculous) mistake was made at the factory. Oh man, I can understand your frustration. WTF indeed.
  8. It turned out he was lying 😃
  9. It's gotten to the point that I advice people to never buy used... Remember back when you'd maybe get an e-mail from a Nigerian prince once every five years? These days you can't open anything, can't buy used, can't answer your phone, etc. etc.
  10. Coma is great. Yeah, the two cover songs I could have done without too. Plus "Knockin'" had already been out for quite a while (I think it's on the "Days of thunder" soundtrack, if I remember correctly?)
  11. I dunno man, I had a looksie and counted 18 songs I def think should be on the album(s), so I was happy. I heard a few really good songs from the demo sessions way back in the day that didn't make it onto UYI that I think maybe should have made it too, it'll be interesting to see if I recognize something on their likely upcoming album. I'm not super hopeful about a possible new album though. As much as I like Slash's playing, I can't say his solo/Conspirators stuff does anything for me.
  12. This whole Greeny thing is starting to feel played out.
  13. As I remember it, they take MOP and do something with it. Google it if you're curious, I can't remember exactly how it went. I don't think it's regular pearloid.
  14. I thought that too. At least it didn't say "influencer".
  15. Sounds good to me. Keep in mind that just by fretting the 12th fret differently, you can go flat or sharp, so good enough is often, well, good enough.
  16. No problem, hope it all works out and welcome back whenever you feel like it.
  17. That's a good point. Oh man, Geffen spent ten million on the studio. I remember thinking waiting for Illusion was a long wait... They were worth it though, IMHO. Have stood the test of time, I think. The Use your illusion albums I mean.
  18. Same here. If he hadn't been in the Pistols, would they have "made it"?
  19. I think it's something in between MOP and pearloid. I think I read that somewhere. I think pearloid is the super cheap plastic imitation. I could be wrong. That was for production models tho, I dunno about CS.
  20. Really good player, both on lead and rhythm. I've watched a few rig-rundown type things with him, and he seems like a very cool guy, too. Remains to be seen if they can put something good together. This business of releasing table scraps from the Chinese Democracy sessions is not doing them any good. It's not like they need the money either, so why sully the brand.
