pippy
Why hasn't anyone mentioned Bob Marley? Dunno. Perhaps because he's not really thought of as a Guitarist - more than a singer/songwriter/rhythm guy? Not putting his contribution down at all - quite the opposite. Just BTW; one of my favourite solos of all-time is on the live version of 'No Woman, No Cry' where the solo was played by yet another LP player, the largely unknown Al Anderson. P. goldtop1
Jimmy Page also my favorite 'Dan electro' guitarist. (Did he use it on Physical Graffiti? I've seen footage of Page using a blue Strat on these songs. Does he still use the 'Blue Strat'? Physical Graffiti is one of my favorite CD's not just favorite Zeppelin CD's.) tc rocker
If you grew up in ohio it would have to be Joe walsh with the James Gang and Phil Keaggy with Glass Harp. I remember seeing Joe Walsh at these "teen fairs" they had in downtown cleveland in the late 60's. He had the best guitar tone, of a Les Paul thru a Marshall Phil Keaggy was always ahead of his time for guitar playing. He was also a huge Mike Bloomfield fan. I remember seeing Glass harp opening up for Grand Funk Railroad. Blew them off the stage.

Mr. C.O. Jones
Robby Krieger. I know he plays SG´s but he recorded all the slide stuff with his Les Paul. I love the way he plays, and the Doors sound.
