Homz
You know those are 3/4 sized guitars. Make sure you can play em.

RudyH
Are they really travel guitars? They appear to me about as cumbersome as a full-size guitar for any camping trip. If you're packing in you'll need a case. Is it really going to be light and compact enough, or will just taking your regular size guitar work about as well. deepblue
I took my Yamaha Guitalele GL1 to the Philippines with me. Cool little nylon 6 string. A little bigger then a Ukelele and will tie you over till you can get home to your Lesters.

retrosurfer1959
I prefer the Taylor out of the two you mentioned has better tone and is a solid little performer. The Martin has a tinny feel and sound. I don't think they make it anymore but Alvarez made a 3/4 size six string also that was nice. If your wanting electric over acoustic (although a acoustic is a lot of fun camping) the Traveller is easy to carry and the Lap Stick though tricky to play is a great little instrument plugged into a Pandora or the small POD. MReynolds
in the summer i am going to camp like i always do and my dad said he will buy me a travel guitar.i have narrowed it down two' date=' a martin and a taylor. can you tell me wich one is better? http://www.guitarcenter.com/Taylor-Baby-Taylor-Dreadnought-Acoustic-Guitar-104224431-i1148421.gc http://www.guitarcenter.com/Martin-LXM-Java-Mahogany-Little-Acoustic-Guitar-517698-i1385935.gc[/quote'] Tanner, I own a Baby Taylor that my wife bought me a couple of Christmases ago. I like it. I take it with us when we travel as it doesn't take up much room (not anywhere close to the size of my Taylor 315CE Jumbo! ). It's a light little guitar...but it will sound different from a standard size guitar, so be forewarned. Just keep in mind...it's for travel so you have to make some sacrifices in sound. By the way I tried the Martin and liked the Taylor better. If you're going to compare the Martin in Mahogany...try comparing with the Taylor in the same http://www.guitarcenter.com/Taylor-Baby-Taylor-Mahogany-Top-Dreadnought-Acoustic-Guitar-514967-i1148422.gc
Homz
I really don't have preference. Just a guess, but I bet both sound like crap. If you have enough room go buy a cheap full size acoustic. Just check the set up closely make sure it's playable at the 12 fret and higher. Cheap acoustics tend to not have a very good set up on them and tend not to be adjustable. Space Pup
I have a Little Martin LXM Java and it's a great little travel guitar. For being a lamiate guitar its got a surpisingly decent tone. It's in no way as full as a real size acoustic but it's not muddy or plastic sounding like most travel guitars. I've played the Taylor too and found it to be a nice little guitar also but between the two I liked the Martins tone better. For a travel guitar, I honestly can't see you going wrong with either one. Guitar slinger
The great deal with baby Taylors is that you get to strung them with 13s and feel nothing.
