i find on the web a

Les Paul Traditional plus 2011 My link

Les Paul Traditional 2012 My link

Les Paul Traditional 2014 120Th anniversary My link

I am looking for an "old style" LP

sould i just get an older standard?

They are all in the same price range.Unfortunatelly i cannot try or see them in person.i have to buy on the web :-(

The 14 model has 59 Tribute pickups,

the others, I think are 57 Classic's.

I own a 14 Trad and prefere the sound of the 59's over the 57 I have on the neck position in another Les Paul.

But that is my personal taste.

It may be not the best source but you may wan't to check out some youtube videos.

Here is one I like, this guy is nuts, but he plays really nice.

I also own a 2014 Trad which I bought specifically because I wanted one with the 59 Tribute pickups. They were only used on the 2014 & 15 Trads so it was either a 14 or a 15 Sprint Run for me. Luckily my favourite Gibson dealer had kept a small stock of the 14's.

The 2014 guitars come highly rated by many, and do feature the now-limited '59 Tribute pickups. As an extra; that Honey Burst looks brilliant. The 2012 also gets a good vote; both look quite clean.

The 2014 Trad is the closest you will get to "old style" LP in terms of sound due to the 59's and the solid body construction unless you buy a Custom Shop reissue IMO. They even have a fat neck like the older ones. If you like thinner necks, the 2011 Trad might work better for you.

I don't know what the 2011 makes a plustop, but she looks incredibly unique. Never seen a top with a similar timber or finish.

I think my choice would be the 2014 Traditional, but this is just me.

I love Greg's videos! In my opinion, he can really play and is one of the funniest people on the planet!

I owned a 2014 Traditional in tobacco sunburst and it was beautiful. Fat neck, weighty but not too heavy, solid body and the 59 pickups were very impressive.

The only thing I didn't like was the 12th fret inlay. Other than that, they are great guitars

Personally I would buy a new one. You may have to pay more but you also could have the option to send it back if you don't like it.

At least that's what I did when I ordered my 14 Trad.

I know there are still 14's available, not cheep, but less gamble.

Here you could even choose your favorite finish.

I spent a lot of time searching for mine, and found it at a great price.

I wish you luck!

Thanks man!I would definitely go for a new one but my wallet is limited to 1400 :-/

Unfortunatelly the 2014 Trad is already sold!

My choice is the Trad Plus 2011 now.

Let you guys know how it goes!

That's where I buy my guitars, there great people to deal with, well worth a visit to the shop. I rung them and let them know I was coming and they got their guitar tech in to set up a number of examples for me.
